Chapter 9

Kael immediately fell apart. He struggled desperately, but it was futile. The police arrived, and with the restaurant's crystal-clear security footage, he was taken away.

My parents looked at me, "Vivienne, we're sorry. We were wrong."

"Honey, I sincerely apologize. Can you give Dad a chance to make amends? I'll hand over the entire company to you. Would you like to run it?"

I shook my head and stepped back, breaking free from my mom's embrace.

"No need. I'm not interested."

My mom hurriedly said, "Vivienne, I know you want to do research. I'll set up a research lab for you. You can do whatever you want, okay? Vivienne, give Mom a chance to make up for her mistakes."

Hearing this, I couldn't help but laugh, "Do you want to make it up to me or try to salvage Kael's business?"

"Dear Mom, Kael's stocks are plummeting, and he's destined for prison. Your business is in freefall. Now you think of using me, is that it?"

"That's not true!"
