Chapter 6

The following day was tense at Kurohime High School. The morning was charged with expectations and rumors about the new first-year students. Although most of the students from the other classes were busy with their usual routine, the members of class 1-6, despite being considered the least distinguished, felt slightly more uneasy. Among them, Yoge Hagame walked down the halls with his usual indifference, but inside, something was starting to brew.

The plan he had devised with Haruka Shimizu to dismantle Ayano Kazami's facade was already underway, but Yoge knew things would never be that easy. Kazami wasn't a fool. She had spent too much time manipulating others to be exposed so quickly. He knew he had to be prepared for any move that could come up.

"A good player always has to stay one step ahead. Kazami won't be the exception," Yoge thought as he headed toward his class. Though his face remained expressionless, his mind was working at lightning speed, analyzing every detail.

---

In class 1-6, things had begun to change subtly. Kaede Tanaka watched from her desk, knowing little about what Yoge was thinking but feeling a strange attraction to him. There was something about his calculating attitude that intrigued her, though she still didn't fully understand what made Yoge so... different.

Takeshi Murata, who used to be known for his clumsiness, had started seeing Yoge in a different light, though he didn't dare approach him too closely. Despite being a guy with low self-confidence, there was something in the way Yoge handled situations that made him feel... small. Yoge, in his stillness and distance, seemed always to be above everyone else.

However, not all eyes were on Yoge. Many were focused on Ayano Kazami, who had continued her role as the perfect girl, captivating the students with her kindness and charm. Every word she said was met with smiles and nods, as if she were a magnet for affection. But this time, there was something different in her behavior. Kazami had begun to realize that something wasn't quite right.

She had noticed Haruka Shimizu's strange attitude recently. Haruka wasn't usually someone who involved herself in other people's conflicts, but there was something in the way she observed Kazami that made her suspect something was in motion. Moreover, Yoge Hagame's distant attitude, his unwillingness to be influenced by her charm, hadn't escaped Kazami's notice. Kazami didn't quite know what was going on, but she wasn't going to sit idly by.

---

That afternoon, in the common area of the main building, Yoge and Haruka sat at a table away from the other students, watching Kazami carefully, who was surrounded by admirers. Every gesture she made seemed measured, but Yoge had already seen the type of manipulation she used. It was obvious to him. "It's only a matter of time," he thought.

"Haruka," Yoge began, not taking his eyes off Kazami, "it's time to take the next step."

Haruka looked at him, a little confused.

"And how are we going to do that?" she asked, with a slight hint of concern in her tone.

"We'll use her own tactics against her." Yoge spoke coldly, knowing that his plan couldn't fail if executed correctly. "Kazami needs her followers to maintain her image. But if we give them a reason to doubt her, her entire house of cards will fall."

Haruka nodded slowly, understanding what Yoge wanted to do. Sometimes, the best way to win was to make your opponent face their own methods.

But at that moment, something changed. Kazami, sensing that her followers were starting to lose interest, lifted her gaze, and her eyes met Yoge's. The eye contact was brief, but it was loaded with tension. Kazami wasn't stupid. She had realized Yoge wasn't going to play by her rules, and now she knew she had to act quickly.

---

The next morning, during lunch, Kazami approached Yoge casually, not showing any emotion on her face but with a clear intention.

"Yoge Hagame, right?" she said, with a smile that didn't reach her eyes. "I'd like to talk to you about something important."

Yoge, who never showed any expression, simply observed her without changing his posture. "Is this her move?" Yoge thought, feeling the game had taken an unexpected turn. "It seems Kazami is starting to play her cards."

"Sure," Yoge responded, his tone cold and distant. "What's it about?"

Kazami sat in front of him, not taking her eyes off his lifeless ones. There was a sense of discomfort that she tried to dispel with her usual confidence.

"I think we could be... allies," she said, not hesitating. "After all, we both want the best for this school, right?"

Yoge watched her calmly before responding:

"Alright."

Kazami smiled widely, but her expression quickly shifted to something more twisted.

"Good, Hagame-kun. But before anything, can I trust you?"

Without flinching, Yoge replied:

"Of course, do you think I'd do anything that wouldn't benefit you?"

Kazami seemed satisfied, though her smile still had a sinister edge.

"Perfect. We need to get rid of Haruka Shimizu. She's a threat to my position."

Yoge, still with his expressionless face, nodded.

"Leave it to me. I need your phone number."

Kazami stared at him before smiling again.

"Of course, no problem, Hagame-kun." She leaned toward him and whispered into his ear, "If you betray me, you'll regret it."

She quickly returned to her usual sweet demeanor and handed over her contact information with a sweet smile.

Back to the present

As he walked, Yoge took his phone out of his left pocket and checked Ayano Kazami's contact. His plan was moving forward, but he knew Kazami wouldn't be easy to handle. Just then, Haruka Shimizu appeared in front of him.

"Yoge Hagame," she said with determination. "When are we going to start making progress on the plan to stop Ayano Kazami?"

Without changing his expression, Yoge responded:

"Tonight. I'll tell you what we need to do. I need your phone number."

Haruka looked at him with some distrust, but ultimately agreed.

"Alright, Hagame. I'll see you later."

Without another word, she walked away while Yoge remained motionless, watching her disappear into the distance.

Lunch:

During lunch, Yoge sat alone, eating calmly. His face remained an expressionless mask, as if nothing in the world could shake him. Suddenly, Ayano Kazami appeared with her tray and a charming smile.

"Can I sit with you?" she asked politely.

Yoge nodded, not bothering to respond verbally.

"Alright, I have a plan to bury Haruka Shimizu, and it's…"

Before she could continue, Yoge interrupted her:

"I've noticed something, Kazami-san."

She raised an eyebrow, intrigued, and smiled subtly.

"Tell me more…"

"Shimizu wants to get you expelled. I've heard she doesn't like your personality at all. Also, I don't like her egocentric attitude either."

Kazami smiled broadly.

"I see we think alike, Hagame-kun."

Yoge, with his expressionless face, asked:

"Do you want revenge?"

She leaned toward him and whispered in his ear with a venomous tone:

"I want to expel that bitch from here."

At that moment, a tall and robust boy appeared next to the table. He wore a confident smile as he approached Kazami.

"My love, what's with this guy?"

Kazami turned toward him with a sweet smile.

"Oh, don't worry, Ryu. He's just a friend."

She moved closer to Ryu Mitsubishi and whispered something in his ear:

"He'll help us expel that bitch."

Ryu looked at her, evaluating the situation, before nodding.

"Alright, Ayano."

Yoge continued eating without flinching, but he decided to speak:

"Is he your boyfriend?"

Kazami looked at him with an unconcerned smile.

Kazami looked at him with a carefree smile.

— Yes, Hagame-kun. He is Ryu Mitsubishi.

Ryu looked at him with some mockery.

— Seriously, this melancholic guy is going to help us with Shimizu?

Kazami chuckled a little.

— Of course. Although it may not seem like it, Hagame-kun has valuable information.

Still somewhat mocking, Ryu extended his hand toward Yoge.

— Nice to meet you, Hagame. I'm Ryu Mitsubishi, from class 1-5. I'm the leader of my class.

Yoge calmly looked at him and replied:

— The pleasure is mine, Mitsubishi. I'm Yoge Hagame, from class 1-6.

Meanwhile, Yoge thought: "So Kazami is involved with the leader of class 1-5... this will be useful."

That same night:

That same night, Yoge was in his assigned room at the school dorm. He checked Haruka Shimizu's contact on his phone and decided to call her. Meanwhile, in another building, Haruka was combing her hair when she received a call from an unknown number.

Frowning, she answered.

— Hagame?

Yoge's calm voice came through the other side.

— Shimizu, I need you to go to the alley next to the school. I'll meet you there.

— Why? —Haruka asked, confused.

Without answering, Yoge hung up. Haruka sighed, still suspicious, but eventually decided to prepare and leave.
