Donnie's POV
"Did not!"
"Did too"
"Did not"
"Did too"
"Did too"
"Did not! "
I yelled, dancing around Charlee happily, not caring about the scowl on her face. All that mattered was I had won.
"You tricked me, Donnie, so it doesn't count," Charlee retorted, folding her arms in mock anger, which made me laugh inwardly. Charlee wasn't really mad; I knew that for a fact. If she were, my ass would be on fire like a Christmas turkey.
Just then, Jordan walked in, his hair disheveled and his eyes looking tired. "Kiddos, what's up? What's got your panties in a twist?" he asked.
Charlee and I exchanged a glance before I filled Jordan in. "Charlee here claims to have mastered teleportation, and we both know that's a damn lie, bro."
Jordan burst out laughing. "Really, Charlee? We all know you ain't."
Charlee grumbled, "Shut up, Hector," and stormed out, stomping her feet and causing vibrations on the ground. We both laughed.
Jordan turned to me, "Where's Ben?"
"Your primo's on his way to Los Blancos," I replied. "He finally got what he came for. Says he'll see us back home."
"Hey Wong!" Charlee hollered, her head peaking from the kitchen door.
"Aye captain!" I replied.
"Come 'ere, homie," she said.
I raised an eyebrow. "Nope, I don't trust you. You're gonna set my beautiful hair on fire."
Charlee chuckled. "No seriously, Donnie, I really need to show you something."
My curiosity piqued, I asked, "What do you wanna show me?"
She smiled mischievously. "A couple of Rolex watches. I got two new ones delivered last night while you were away. Gold and silver – which one do you think would suit Jordan better?"
I smirked, thinking a Rolex for Jordan was basically a Rolex for me. Jordan would love the silver one, but I had my heart set on the gold. I rushed towards Charlee, my right hand stretched out to choose one.
But when I got to her, she had no watches. "Okay Charls, where the heck is my watch? I mean Jordan's gold watch. Where're you hiding it, woman?"
Charlee smirked at me. "You just got tricked, Wong. I ain't giving you shit."
I gasped dramatically, clutching my heart. "Damn, Chica, I devoted my entire heart and life to you, and you still played me dirty. I'm leaving Charls, and you'll never find someone else like me."
Charlee deadpanned, "No you ain't."
I gave her a look of mock disbelief. "What you gonna do to stop me, honey? Pay me a million dollars? Honey, I ain't cheap."
She didn't say a word, instead grabbing my hand.
Charlee's grip on my hand was like a vice, and before I could react, the world around me began to blur. The air thickened, making every breath a struggle, and my brain felt like it was being squeezed in a relentless vise.
When the chaos finally subsided, I stumbled backward, gasping for air. The unfamiliar cityscape before me was a jarring shock. Neon lights and towering skyscrapers stretched toward the sky, a cacophony of sounds and smells that were unmistakably foreign.
My stomach churned, and I doubled over, retching onto the pavement. Charlee's laughter cut through my misery, and I turned to her, fury burning in my chest.
"What the heck did you just do, you...you diablo!" I fumed.
Charlee mocked me childishly, "Oh, is wittle Donnie mwad?" My temper flared up more like molten magma.
"This isn't funny, Charlee. Where the hell are we?" I barked.
"Tokyo, Wong. We're in Japan," she said, then took out some currency. "Here's some money. I took the liberty of getting Japanese yen. Man, knock yourself out." She threw three bundles of money towards me.
I was confused. Why would she do that?
"Adios, Donnie," she said, and before my very eyes, she teleported out, leaving me screaming and cursing in the almost silent street.
I stood there, ranting and raving, but after five minutes, I realized she wasn't coming back. And to make matters worse, I realized I couldn't speak Japanese.
"I'm gonna get back at you, Charlee! I'm gonna have the last laugh!" I yelled at the top of my lungs.
A Japanese couple who heard my outburst stared at me like I needed to be locked up. I glared at them, "Mind your bu
siness, oldies!" I yelled, then took off running out of the street.
