Galaxy Lore

[A.N: Keep in mind that this lore is not completely accurate, and I plan to work more on it so there might be changes. If you have any ideas, feel free to tell me both in the comment and even in the discord channel (when I create one).]

Humans have longed to break off the chains that shackles them down for ages.

One such chain is the inability to fly.

It started with wild, reckless attempts—humans plastering feathers onto their arms, flinging themselves from mountain peaks with the fervent hope of soaring like birds.

However, gravity was unforgiving and crushed their hopes, but in their failures, they uncovered a truth: though they could not fly alone, the right tools could lift them to the sky.

When the first successful flights were taken, humans where in awe, excited and in disbelief.

However, this feeling of success soon wore off and just like any creature they wanted more and so they looked higher than the sky and longed to visit the stars.

Here, technologies powered by aether crystals stepped in, as humanity entered the age of flying vehicles, which was immediately followed by the space exploration age.

Even after many setbacks, their determination, one of their admirable qualities prevented them from giving up, with their mistakes they learned until finally they stepped off the rock they were bound to.

Humans' success in that step was followed by an important realization that confirmed the philosophy that they were indeed alone in their solar system.

And just like always they aimed for more.

So, humans began to build academies and established many research labs that directed all their efforts towards exploring the new branches of science, space science.

Humans took a longer time to unveil enough secrets of the universe to take another step forward and when they finally did, they built space ships, discovered the technique of space hyperjump.

It was then the true importance of Aether crystals dawned on them.

And so, the battle for resources began.

Humanity, all too aware of the extremes they would reach in pursuit of resources and power, created the laws of war—rules meant to safeguard progress.

With the advance in technology, they had uncovered haunting evidence of their own history, a cycle of collapse and resurgence repeating across the ages, a fate they were desperate to avoid once more.

Another step was taken to further prevent this cycle, Space colonization.

During this period they realize that although other creature exists in their galaxy, they were not sentient; do not possess advanced enough mind to have true sentient beings.

[A.N: I honestly don't know how to explain this further but what I mean is basically animals; they found animals like alien on other planets but not true aliens.]

To unify communication, a single language was established, bridging the divides of culture and distance. With this shared tongue the Era of Ascent began.

This era stretched on for countless generations, but humanity's insatiable spirit soon turned to confront another one of their shackles—Death.

The Aether crystal, already an important part of their progress, proved even more valuable in their quest, fortunately aether crystal was one of the most abundant and renewable energy source.

With its power, humanity unlocked ways to extend their lifespans and enhance their bodies.

Yet like always, even these monumental achievements soon proved insufficient.

A few thousand years of life fell far short of their ultimate desire: immortality.

Humanity's greatest strength—their ability to adapt—eventually offered a glimpse of a solution.

A new phenomenon began to surface: certain individuals were born with a unique organ now called the Aetherial Nexus.

This organ granted its bearers a connection to the Aether in their surroundings, enabling their minds to wield power where their bodies could not.

From this discovery emerged the legendary phrase:

"If our body can't, our mind shall."

Curious and relentless, the great scientists of the age sought to unravel the mystery behind these extraordinary births.

Yet their findings were proved to be a dead end—the occurrence was entirely random, with no discernible cause.

This randomness, combined with its rarity, led to the bittersweet label of a "partial solution."

Further experiments gave rise to an intriguing theory: the Aetherial Nexus might not be a new development, but an ancient trait—overlooked due to its extreme rarity.

The revelation ignited both hope and frustration, as humanity realized they were still far from conquering the chain of mortality, though they had taken one step closer.

In humanity's relentless pursuit of advancement, their gaze turned toward the unique individuals now known as Aetherians.

With their unique connection to Aether, these gifted beings held the promise of unimaginable potential.

Efforts to deepen their understanding and enhance this extraordinary ability sparked a transformative shift, which brought the end to the Era of Ascent and beginning of the Era of Aetherial Awakening.

More progress was made and four stages of advancement for this phenomenal was created.

In an effort to gain an advantage over their competitors factions began weaponizing these special individuals and treating them like slaves and properties.

Eventually, Aetherians could no longer endure their mistreatment, leading to the creation of the Order of Equilibrium—a movement dedicated to fighting for equal rights among all humans.

However, within the Order, an extremist faction arose. Their values evolved from seeking equality to pursuing supremacy over regular humans.

This led to the slit in the Order of Equilibrium creating a new faction: the Transcendent Order, symbolizing their newfound ambition for dominance.

Conflict erupted as these factions diverged.

The Order of Equilibrium, the Transcendent Order, and humanity itself became locked in a brutal war that marked the end of the Era of Aetherial Awakening. In its place, the Era of Extinction Wars began.

To combat the Aetherians, humanity created the Nullifier Faction—a group of specialists dedicated to developing technology designed to counter Aetherians.

Their most fearsome creation was a weapon capable of severing their connection to Aether temporarily, leveling the battlefield.

[A.N: I might still change the name of the human faction. Once I decide, I'll let you know! Feel free to suggest or vote on a name you prefer.]

This technology was called the anti-aether field powered by a different type of energy generated by stars.

[A.N: Basically, electricity but because of how their galaxy evolved electricity is very hard to produce, store and even use.]

They installed the technology into advanced exoskeletons, training specialized soldiers to wield them effectively. This innovation leveled the battlefield, equalizing all three sides in the conflict.

The Order of Equilibrium was the first to collapse. Many of its members defected to the Transcendent Order, while the remaining loyalists were wiped out in the ensuing wars.

This left the struggle to the two remaining factions: the Transcendent Order and humanity.

The war brought about the very nightmare feared during the First Era: a relentless cycle of destruction and resurgence. Yet, this time, humanity had spread across countless worlds.

Using the ruins and knowledge of prior eras that survived, humanity managed to rebuild more swiftly than ever before, bringing the Era of Rebirth to a start.
