Chapter 37: Crash into Fate

The hum of the engine echoed in the near-silent night, punctuated only by the occasional crackle of static from the car radio. The man who had been chasing Yuxi gripped the wheel tightly, his knuckles turning white as frustration simmered beneath his composed exterior. His sharp eyes flickered between the road ahead and the rearview mirror, tracking the trail of the car he had been relentlessly pursuing.

Then, his phone rang.

With a swift motion, he answered, pressing it against his ear. The voice on the other end was calm, almost indifferent.

"Stop the chase."

The order was abrupt, leaving no room for discussion.

The enforcer furrowed his brows. "But Boss, I almost have them. They're within reach."

"No need," the voice responded, smooth and final. "This matter is no longer our concern."
