A person in a very elegant black suit opened the doors.
"Welcome. My name is Andrew and I'll be your assistant for today."
He held out his arm to help Nyssa get out of the car.
"Please follow me while the preparations take place."
They could see the ruckus outside, as all the workers prepared the stage.
Their chatter was only being silenced by the reckless drivers from different news channels driving as fast as possible to get the scoop.
"Are those such huge news?"
Nyssa whispered to Leo while taking cautious steps. Not leaving his side for even a moment.
"Yes miss. This is the biggest news we had in years I'd say."
The man guiding them smirked with half-closed eyes at them, he was a journalist through and through, not even close to comparable to the one that brought them here.
"Please make yourself at home."
Gloppy took that literally and jumped head-first on the sofa, dirtying it in the process.
Nyssa and Leo followed shortly after, although with a bit more manners than the Slime King as they sat by the table with snacks.
Rumble rumble
Her stomach rumbled as she stared at the different foods placed in front of them, her eyes shining brightly and drool dripping from her face as she looked at their guide.
"Without a problem ma'am."
One after another, the snacks started disappearing from the table leaving only one of each behind.
"That was great! I left you the rest, Leo!"
She smiled at him while patting her belly. Her cheerfulness filled the entire room.
"Thank you."
He picked up a piece of cake and was about to take a bite when he saw the still drooling Nyssa looking at the cake.
A sigh escaped his mouth as he slumped over and fed her the dessert.
"I was not aware of your party consisting of 3 people though."
"Because it's 2 people. Gloppy over there is my Summon."
To prove it, Leo recalled him for a moment before summoning him again which shook the journalist who thought that his friend was just seeing things.
"Could you tell me more about this class?"
While at it, he thought it would be possible to get some more information out of him, maybe even learn how to get such a class himself.
"Don't overstep the boundaries. If you talked to your friend, you should know what I am fine with talking about and what I'm not."
Leo's gaze petrified the man. Even though there was no sign of anger or annoyance on his face, the mere fact that he stared at him was enough to make cold sweat cover his face.
"Of-of course I didn't mean it that way, I am very sorry if it came off that way. Let's see it as a hiccup on our part."
The journalist excused himself, leaving the three of them alone again.
"yawn I'm so sleepy..."
Nyssa said as she finished the last snack left on the table, barely able to keep her eyes open.
"I will be on guard, so you can go to sleep if you want."
Before he could even finish it though, she was already sound asleep. But who could blame her, after all, they spent almost 2 days up without any rest at all.
|Aren't you tired as well Master?|
'I can't sleep, there is too much I have to do.'
He sighed while writing down the speech he would give to the media.
A clock ticked on the wall, counting the time that had passed. After around 30 minutes a very energetic person ran to the room, putting their hand on the door frame to catch their breath.
"Mister Leo!"
Leo nodded in understanding that it was their time to go out. He stood up and lightly tapped the sleeping Nyssa.
"Hey, wake up."
She wiped her eyes and yawned loudly, following him and Gloppy to the stage outside.
Snap snap snap
Bright blinding lights hit them right as they left the building.
"Over here! Over here!"
"No, over here!"
Rows of cameras kept taking photos of all three of them. Way more than even he, who knew how big of a deal that was, expected.
They reached the stage where he could see everything. Around 50 different news crews arrived to hear whatever he was about to say, which was just a vague scoop about a potential Guild.
Tap tap "Welcome."
He spoke into the microphone, however, they didn't listen, too busy taking photos.
Sigh

With a single stroke of the new staff, a swarm of hellbats appeared above him.
[Summoner Slots 0/30 ⚚]
The light that the bats emitted caught everyone's attention, which in turn finally allowed him to speak as he grabbed the microphone.
"Let's start again. Welcome everyone nice enough to bless us with their presence."
He stared right into the recording cameras.
"Before we move to the trivial matters like the creation of a guild, we need to talk about something far more dire. Let's start with the Daily Quest because I think there is a big misconception."
TVs all around the world that watched any news at that moment, were redirected to this broadcast due to its sheer urgency.
"Whoever has not completed the Quest yet, should drop everything they do right now and run to complete it. The failure for not completing it is losing access to the shard of the system with no way of getting it back."
A bunch of the journalists in front of him dropped their cameras and ran, some towards the merchant district and the others to the Tower.
"Now that only the ones who can spare some time are left, we can go to another topic. From what I and my team have figured out, the Gates are a threat to all the countries around the world."
Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, Clint was watching the broadcast on the TV.
"Clint, if you don't want to help us then at least turn that shit off!"
A man in a mask surrounded by paperwork shouted at the carefree guy.
"Hmm... that's a good idea, thanks Ron."
Back on the stage, Leo continued.
"We found information in the one we completed, it said that they are merging with Earth, slowly but surely."
The whole plaza went silent on those words.
"T-there is no way he is right!"
"Yeah! What are the chances of that happening."
"I knew he was a fraud."
The most important people he was trying to reach wouldn't take this message as lightly as the general public. Unbeknownst to him, he also caught the attention of someone far more dangerous than he had ever expected...
"Haha, Amella this one is way more interesting than the rest of the ants in that shit hole."
A man in a pajama said while cradling an empty flask of wine, his eyes devoid of any light and an empty smile on his face.
