Why Are You Here?

Viktor went to his room and rubbed the crease between his eyebrows. What does Sydney see in that spoiled brat? 

 He laid on the bed and looked at pictures of Merri on his phone. He couldn't help but smile as he ran his finger over the screen. His dark eyes were gentle and warm. My little angel is so beautiful and sweet.

 Exhausted, he closed his eyes and fell asleep with the phone in his hand.

 In the next room, WeiWei couldn't sleep. Every time she closed her eyes she pictured the dead man slumped down next to her on the back seat. His eyes wide open even in death with blood dripping from the gaping hole in his forehead. She sat up shivering recalling the gruesome sight and picked up a water bottle on the nightstand.

 Frightened, she decided to go to Nikolai's room. She saw light from under the door and thought he was still awake.

 When she stood next to the bed she noticed the phone and picked it up. She stared at the photo of a beautiful blonde girl sitting at a Grand piano then at the handsome man asleep on the bed. Who is she? His girlfriend?

 She dropped the phone on the bed when Nikolai startled her by opening his eyes. He glared at her with a murderous glint in his ink black eyes, "What are you doing?"

 "I...I couldn't sleep. I had a nightmare...it was terrifying. I saw your light on and came in."

 He growled, "Get out."

 "Is that your girlfriend?"

 Viktor pursed his lips as he pointed at the door, "You are testing my patience."

 WeiWei bit her lower lip and stomped out of the room. She looked at the thin nightgown she was wearing, he wasn't aroused in the least! Hmmph! Any other man would have comforted me!

 In the morning Viktor called Merri, when she answered her voice was soft and slightly hoarse. She sounded like she just woke up. Her kittenish voice made his heart skip a beat, "Did you just wake up?"

 Merri stretched her arms and yawned, "Hmm. Where are you?"

 "I had to stay in Kazan. I have a meeting this morning, I will be back in the afternoon. How are you feeling?"

 Merri blushed, "Good. Umm..did I force myself on you last night?"

 His dark eyes were shining, "I was willing."

 Merri's face was hot, "It must have been the wine."

Nikolai was in a good mood and teased, "Not that I am irresistible?"

 Merri's heart was beating faster an faster thinking about last night. She clutched the covers, "Both."

 His eyes were filled with overflowing love thinking about his beloved girl. "When I get back we can continue where we left off."

 She gazed at the delicate ring on her finger, "You gave me a ring? It is exquisite."

 "It is my promise that I will love and cherish you forever. Do you like it? I will get you a better ring when we get back to the city."

 There was a flash of joy in Merri's amber eyes."I love it. I don't need another ring. This one is perfect." Merri's heart was fluttering, for a man of few words he can be so romantic!

 There was a knock on the bedroom door and thinking it was WeiWei, Nikolai's face darkened. Damn that troublesome woman!

"I need to go. If you want to go shopping with Anya in town you have my card. Buy whatever you want."

 "I would like to see the town but there is nothing I need to buy."

 "Why don't you buy a present for your brother?"

 Merri hadn't thought about Myles and realized she hadn't called him or Claire. She wrinkled her forehead, "Thank you, but I have money."

 Nikolai knew the timid little girl didn't like to spend his money. He grinned picturing her tangled expression then teased, "You can pay me back with your body."

 The knocking continued and he was afraid WeiWei would say something. "My driver is here I need to leave. Call me if there is anything."

 "Okay."

 He got out of bed and opened the door, it was a maid. "Sorry to disturb you but the young lady you brought...well...she is throwing a fit downstairs and wants to leave. The butler sent me to get you."

 Nikolai's's eyes were pitch black and the bulging veins on his neck were twitching. He rushed down the stairs and saw the butler preventing WeiWei from opening the front door. She was cursing him and trying to push past the elderly man.

 Angrily grabbing her arm Nikolai snarled, "What are you doing?"

 She hadn't slept all night, there were dark circles under her red and swollen eyes. "I hate you! I was scared to death last night and you kicked me out of your room. I want to see Sydney and tell him how you are a cold and unfeeling beast! A cold blooded killer!"

 "You can tell Sydney anything you want about me but you aren't going anywhere. As soon as he arrives in Kazan I will deliver you to him." If I weren't a cold blooded killer you would have died after being raped by those men. "Now behave and go have breakfast. I have things to do."

 She stomped her feet and pouted "I need a phone. I want to call Daddy!"

 "I wouldn't think you would be so clueless after being with Sydney. A word of warning, this matter can't be told to anyone if you want to live. No phone. No more tantrums. I am not a fucking babysitter."

 WeiWei felt a chill down her spine as he walked away. His oppressive aura and sharp tone made her knees feel weak. She wondered if the beautiful woman in the photo on his phone had any idea how cold and dangerous he was. WeiWei was a vindictive and petty young woman, she balled up her hands into fists, I should make it my business to find the clueless woman and open her eyes.

 She was in a better mood after thinking about destroying his relationship with the gentle looking woman in the photo. She turned to the butler and sweetly smiled, "What's for breakfast I am starving."

 "..."

Nikolai shook his head and walked outside to have a cigarette. The sooner Sydney picks up that spoiled slut, I can return to my little angel.

Sydney arrived in Kazan and immediately called Nikolai, "I'm here. Where are you?" He wanted to pick up Gao WeiWei before her father got wind she was kidnapped. 

Nikolai gave him the address and asked, "What about Alexi?"

 "Don't worry I didn't forget the deal."

 Breathing a heavy sigh of relief Nikolai lit the cigarette between his fingers. Alexi will be forced to accept that the little angel is mine.

Sydney walked to a waiting Rolls Royce Phantom. When the driver opened the back door he narrowed his eyes, "Why are you here?"

"Did you think I wouldn't be angry?"

"Listen, I had no choice. If I didn't comply I would have lost millions and my mistress. The little piano player is one fucking woman."

 Alexi played with the gun in his hand, "My woman."

 "What are you going to do? Kill your blood brother because he was bewitched by the little slut? You know Nikolai, no one is more loyal to you. But, he is innocent when it comes to women, he fell for her pitiful innocent act. He isn't thinking straight. He even said he wants to leave the Organization."

 "Fuck! You expect me to just give the tasty bitch to him? NO! I can't stop thinking about her sweet taste and delicious body. When I was in England I rushed the negotiations to return to the city so I could fuck the little piano player. Do you know who pissed off I was when I heard your poisonous wife brought her to Kazan as bait!"

 "Dammit Alexi! You can have any beautiful woman you want. Seriously, has Nikolai ever asked you for anything? So he wants the girl. Give her to him and don't cause a problem. It is an order. As far as LingLing goes... she will be severely punished."

 Alexi had a malicious gleam in his eyes as he tossed the gun back and forth in his hands, "What do I get in return? I'm not giving up the woman without receiving compensation." Let the bastard think he can have the little fairy...I will steal her from him then destroy the bastard for betraying me. Leave the Organization and lead a happy carefree life with the little piano player? HA! Never!

Sydney opened a bottle of water, "I am open to discussion. What do you want?"

They drove to the villa where Nikolai and WeiWei were staying. Satisfied with the compensation Sydney offered and his plan, the tense atmosphere in the car relaxed.

 Alexi decided for the moment not to reveal his inner rage. When they arrived he casually remarked, "Is the little piano player here?"

"No."

"Where is she?"

 "Not here. Stay in the car."

 After he got out of the car Alexi curled up his lips into a sneer, I didn't think Nikolai was cunning enough to enlist Sydney. Well, I can't let him be comfortable anyway.

 Alexi followed him and Sydney had an ugly expression, Alexi patted him on the shoulder, "Don't worry. I said I agreed."

 When the butler opened the door then the two men strode into the living room. Nikolai was sitting on the couch and stood up without revealing his turbulent emotions. Why is Alexi with Sydney?

 He expressionlessly said, "The woman is in the dining room."

Sydney left the room and Alexi lifted his thin lips into a smile that wasn't a smile. "You got smarter. Using Sydney to steal my woman."
