Chapter 73

Tara was right. The Romans did burn. I wasn't happy with hurting them, but a dark part of me was grimly proud that I struck first. I struck hard.

I waited long enough to see if they would retaliate. But they moved seemingly out of my range of attack. It wasn't, but I didn't want to correct them.

I thought about continuing the attack. I had plenty of mana to spare. But I'd had no effect on their serious players. I'd shown I could strike them at any time and draw blood. In the best scenario they would be intimated and turn tail, but I would take even a morale boost for our forces.

Having the Kings of Gelt and Druids think well of me was a plus. Putting hope back into the hearts of the people who had fled Ferisdarm with me was greater still.

"Will we head back?" I asked Tara.

"Sure. You've shown them your might. Let them cower in the open tonight." Tara mocked the Romans.

"Indeed."
