Chapter 14

I became moody and quiet, barely speaking all day.

Archer asked me what would make me feel better.

I glanced at him and said listlessly:

"I miss Joy. Can you let me go out?"

He smiled. "Your body hasn't fully recovered yet. Why go through all that trouble? Wouldn't it be better to invite her here to play?"

I tried to control my racing heart. "Is that possible?"

Archer gently stroked my head.

"Anything is possible if you wants it."

The next day, he really did bring Joy up the mountain.

Joy rushed over excitedly to hug me. "Jade, I was wondering where you disappeared to all this time. So you've been hiding out at this amazing place to recover!"

I hugged her back, feeling both thrilled and shocked.

At the dinner table, as I was looking for a chance to pass Joy the note I had written, Archer suddenly spoke up. He casually asked Joy if her father was still satisfied with the project.
