Chapter 12

The lawyer said that Archer doesn't agree to the divorce.

"Did you tell him we'd file a lawsuit?"

"I did. He said that's fine."

I frowned.

The lawyer glanced at me and hesitated before saying:

"I've handled divorce cases for many years, and I feel that Mr. Stratton isn't really concerned about the company or assets."

"Then what is he concerned about?"

"Probably... not getting divorced. If we file for divorce when the financial situation isn't clear, it might drag on even longer."

In the middle of the night, I pulled back the curtain and looked down at the street below.

A car was parked quietly by the curb.

It came late at night and left in the early morning.

This had been happening every day for a month.

I put on my coat and went downstairs, walking up to the car.

Through the window, I could see Archer wrapped in a coat, sleeping inside.

I tapped on the glass, and his eyes flew open.

His eyelashes fluttered, revealing a look of disbelief.
