1~THE WEIRD INTERVIEW

EMMA

"Ma'am you are next.." I heard the secretary's voice call.

"This is it, Emma, I can't waste this moment, I had been preparing for this moment for weeks." I thought to myself.

As I stood up, my heart began to race with anticipation. I had to get this job. My little sister, Olivia, was counting on me.

Her severe heart condition made every day a struggle, and the medication she needed was expensive. I needed to provide for her, to give her a chance at a normal life. This job at Crescent Hospitality was my only hope.

Dad had managed to find a way for me to get the opportunity for an interview so I could get money for the treatment, it wasn't an easy way but with the help from the Beta, we could get through it.

I got to know Beta Blake from my former waitress job, he is one of the best friends anyone could ask for.

As I approached the lady, her eyes changed and it glowed. I needed no one to tell me that she could sense that I was not a werewolf, and I am pretty sure the hatred would commence immediately.

"Human.." she hissed and rolled her eyes, "I am not a human, I only have a weak wolf," I corrected her calmly, they always tagged me to be human because most of the time you can never feel my wolf.

"How did you even get into the company, you are not.."

"Stella?" A voice cut her off and a sly smile appeared on my face as he moved close to her.

"Bl.." I was about to call but he signaled for me not to, oh my bad. How could I have forgotten he warned me not to act like I knew him? I feel somewhat relieved seeing he was here and is defending me again like he always does.

"She is one of the interviewers, why ask that silly question?" He fired at her and she quickly shook her head showing courtesy.

"I am sorry Beta, I was just"

"Enough!" He cut her off "Do what you are asked to and leave the rest for Alpha to decide."

She nodded her head quietly, shooting me a small glare, "You can go inside now Alpha is waiting for you." She announced and I shot a small smile at Blake.

I strutted toward the office breathing in and out as I hoped to get the job.

I recalled Blake's words, "Don't get scared, I talked to the Alpha already. He wouldn't reject you. Do your best, and I will do the rest." With the newfound confidence, I stepped inside.

The moment I entered, the environment shifted. Alpha Ian's back was turned to me, but I sensed the aura of fury emanating from him.

My sixth sense kicked in, and I felt his anger, confusion, and something else... something that made my body tremble.

Thanks to Mum's training, I had developed a sixth sense, despite being weak, so I could navigate the werewolf world.

"Mate," my weak wolf uttered and I was left stunned, "No… alpha Ian can't be my mate." I thought.

Dad had warned me about Alpha Ian's reputation. Cold, brutal, and ruthless. He had refused to take a mate, choosing to rule the pack with his power. Anyone who dared to mention his mate was killed on the spot.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart, "Mate.." my wolf hollered looking more than alive now, even though she was still so weak.

"Get that thought out of your head, he would never take us," I whispered.

"Good day…" I began, but Alpha Ian's response cut me off.

"Mate," he also growled, his voice low and husky.

My body trembled at the word. "Wh... what?" I stuttered, my head spinning.

Alpha Ian turned to face me, his movements lightning-fast. I stumbled backward, almost losing my balance.

"Mate!" he growled again, his eyes blazing with intensity.

I shook my head, trying to clear the confusion. "I…" my words felt like a lump in my throat.

Alpha Ian's brow furrowed, and before I could react, my back hit the wall as his hand encircled around my neck. I groaned in pain as his eyes glowed.

"Pl..." I whispered, but Alpha Ian's voice cut me off.

"Emma?" he called, his voice echoing in my head, how did he know my name just like that? And why is he calling it like we were once so close?

I felt a wave of flashes, but they were unclear, and filled with pain. My hands moved to my head, and my heart slashed in agony.

"You are hurting me," I whispered, wincing as my head spun, I couldn't grasp myself, all I felt was pain echoing through my head.

Alpha Ian's grip on my neck tightened. "How dare you show your face in front of me again? After what you have done?"

I swallowed hard, lost in confusion. My heart thumped wildly, and the pain increased. What was he talking about? I have never gotten an opportunity to meet him in the past, only heard of his name, and always do my best to avoid him so I don't get on his nerves and get killed.

"Please... I can't..." I begged, but Alpha Ian's response was a growl.

"How dare you, betrayer, come back now to ruin my life all over after all these years!"

His voice echoed through the walls, and I felt my breath slipping away. I was having an attack, and no one would be there to save me. My eyes blurred, and my hope was crumbling.

"I am sorry.." I forced out, and his eyes narrowed, as if he regained himself he let go and I fell to my knees.

I gripped my chest, he snapped his neck like he was trying to control himself.

His back turned to me and he growled again. "Why the fuvk are you here?"

His voice echoed through the walls, but my breath was short, I couldn't breathe.

"I am here for an interview.." I managed to say.

I thought I would get some job to do here, but all I get is an alpha who thinks I have betrayed him in the past when I don't even know him.

"Please…"I need this job, don't send me away" I mumbled, and that pissed him off.

As I looked up at him, his claws were out, ready to snap my neck. Just as Alpha Ian's claws were about to snap my neck, the door burst open, and Blake flew toward him, grabbing his hands.

"Alpha! What are you doing?" He roared, but Alpha Ian kicked him back, Beta Blake stood back up and kicked him forward.

"Control yourself, Ian!" That name sparked another flash as I groaned on the floor, my hand around my head this time I groaned so loud.

Alpha Ian stood back immediately as if sensing my pain. Then Blake rushed over to me.

"Hey! Are you okay?" Blake asked, but the next moment he was flying backward and couldn't touch me. Now Alpha Ian stood in front of me.

"What's wrong with you?" he asked, his voice eerily calm, as if he hadn't just attacked me.

I shifted back, shaking my head, fearing he would hurt me. Dad had told me a lot of stories about how he kills without mercy. I shouldn't have tried my luck. I shouldn't have come here for the job.

"Don't touch me!" I mumbled, slapping his hand off, and this snapped him out of his trance, he stood up.

"You are hired. Come first thing tomorrow morning.." He announced, turning to Blake, who grabbed his head from the sudden hit he got from the Alpha.

"No more interviews. She is hired as the Sales Representative."

My mouth was left ajar, I heard he was crazy but I didn't prepare for this level of madness.

Before Blake could ask any questions, he walked toward the door. Then, as if he recalled something he stopped now glancing in my direction.

"We have nothing together. You can't be my Luna! So, you have been rejected." I could only flutter my eyes in shock as he walked out, the pain in my heart increased.

"Mate doesn't want us because we are weak," my wolf little voice said in my head as I shut my eyes in pain.
