CHAPTER 29

c29 Russell: I just left for a few days, and Tony is dead?

Good times always seem to pass too quickly, even though Russell secretly stretches the moments, making them last longer in his own way.

After the sunrise, Russell reluctantly said goodbye to Gwen, who was heading back to class. She's still a student, after all.

Returning to his residence, Russell shed his clothes and put everything else aside, packing his things away. He was determined to visit the liver attribute point.

He took a step forward and found himself in a void, with a red dwarf star ahead of him. Proxima Centauri, only 4.22 light-years from Earth, was a formidable sight.

Russell activated his innate energy absorption ability, beginning to absorb the light, heat, and ionizing radiation from Proxima Centauri's core. Each day, he gains an average of 7,777 attribute points.

Months ago, he couldn't have ventured this deep into the star's core without peril. But after his second upgrade, when his third-stage attributes were maxed out, things had changed.

Deep Blue, start!

[Name: Russell (God Clan)]

[Attribute points: 133, 4396]

[Invincible Body: 100]

Talent 1 [Energy Absorption]: Absorbs any form of energy, converting it into attribute points.

Talent 2 [Attribute Transfer]: Allows attribute points to enhance the divine body.

Description: Upgrade in progress. Estimated time remaining: 9 months.

Unbeknownst to the readers, Russell had quietly completed his second upgrade. Much of the energy granted by the Blood God boss had been used to power his third upgrade.

After completing the second upgrade, Russell's attributes panel changed. His lifespan was now measured in attribute points, meaning he was no longer limited by age. His physique, perception, and spirit had merged into one, forming an [Invincible Body].

Each time Russell improves his [Invincible Body] attribute, it costs 30,000 attribute points, which is equivalent to the total cost of his second-stage improvement. His attribute point consumption has remained steady.

In his perception, his body and soul had fused, granting him a multitude of magical abilities and terrifying defenses. With this power, even if the powerful ancient gods of the Marvel universe were to intervene, Russell knew he could still survive—unless they chose to directly annihilate him.

At his current stage, as long as no ancient gods with immense power intervened, Russell could survive most threats. However, black holes, giant star cores, or supernova explosions could still obliterate him in an instant.

Russell had planned to stay here for a few days to absorb energy, but the conversion efficiency of real universe energy was far less effective compared to magical energy. "Blood God, I miss you. Will you come again?"

Stark Tower, Drawing Room.

Tony Stark sat casually, eyeing Nick Fury, who was across from him.

"Natalie said that SHIELD has information on Howard and Anton, but it needs to be delivered in person?" Tony asked, leaning back in his chair.

"Yes," Nick Fury responded. "It's a matter of confidentiality. There's no room for error."

Tony lazily sipped his coffee. "Alright, take it out."

Nick Fury motioned, and Natasha quickly pulled out a syringe, about to administer the antidote. But in a split second, Tony twisted, rolling out of the way in a panic.

"That antidote temporarily relieves the palladium poisoning," Fury explained.

"I'm in perfect health," Tony shot back irritably. "Palladium poisoning? Please, that's nothing."

But then, without warning, Tony clutched his head and collapsed, writhing in intense pain.

"Tony!" Pepper screamed, rushing to his side.

"Call the doctor! There's something in my head!"

After a few moments of struggling, Tony went still. A preliminary examination confirmed that his brain was severely damaged—massive internal bleeding. Tony Stark had lost his vital signs.

"Is he dead?" Pepper asked, her voice trembling as she squatted beside him, unable to keep her balance.

Tony's security team immediately turned their eyes on Nick Fury and Natasha.

Nick Fury exchanged a glance with Natasha.

At that moment, Happy Hogan stepped forward. "Jarvis, bring up the surveillance footage from that moment."

To everyone's relief, the footage confirmed they had done nothing to harm Tony. The antidote never actually penetrated his body.

But as they reviewed the footage, a chilling realization began to form in their minds. Something was off—Tony's final words had mentioned new nanoweapons.

Nick Fury's face grew grim as a thought crossed his mind. He remembered an old friend.

"I'm not dead yet... I can still save him."

Tony's spirit appeared, walking toward the group, repeating the words, "I'm not dead yet. I can still save him."

"Tony!" Pepper cried, hearing his voice, even though his physical body was gone. She looked around in confusion.

Suddenly, she turned, and their eyes met. Tony and Pepper stood locked in a gaze that blended reality and illusion.

"Tony's gone," Happy said softly, placing a comforting hand on Pepper's shoulder. "We've got to let go."

"No," Pepper insisted, tears streaming down her face. "I saw him! He's still here!"

Everyone turned to look where Pepper pointed, but there was no one there.

"Pepper?" Happy asked gently.

"Quiet," Pepper whispered, her eyes scanning the room.

"Pepper, can you hear me?" Tony's voice echoed.

"Yes." Pepper nodded, almost unable to believe what was happening.

"He's gone, but there's still a chance. You need to contact Russell," Tony's voice continued. "He can save me."

Pepper nodded eagerly, knowing what she had to do.

The phone rang.

"Hello, the number you dialed is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."

She dialed again.

"Damn it," Tony muttered under his breath.

"Pepper, put on my armor. Head to the Sanctum Sanctorum in New York. Let them know what happened, and ask them to contact Master Strange."

The journey was smooth, and upon arriving at the Sanctum Sanctorum, everyone recognized Tony's armor. They immediately relayed the message to Doctor Strange.

Soon, the news reached the ancient sorcerer.

After a brief moment of thought, Doctor Strange forwarded the message to Russell.

"Tony's dead. Come back and bring him back to life."

Russell was deep in the core of Proxima Centauri, far beyond the reach of any ordinary communication device. Even if information made it through, it would take more than four years for the message to reach him.

But when Russell finally received the message, he was startled. Tony Stark was dead—did this mean the events of Iron Man 2 were unraveling?

Russell smiled to himself. "If I had known, I would have stayed a few more days to watch the show."

He zoomed out from the core of Proxima Centauri at an incredible speed. The massive celestial bodies around him distorted space and time, making a portal difficult to open. But with his abilities, Russell could make it happen—though it might destabilize the core of Proxima Centauri.

After some struggle, he returned to the surface of the star, where the space-time around him was more stable.

Russell stepped back into his room, donned his robes, and wore the Time Stone. Standing before the mirror, he straightened his appearance.

"Junior brother, I'm here to save you."
