I didn't answer him, turning to leave with the doctor.
I had only taken a few steps when I heard the sound of someone collapsing behind me.
As I rounded the corner and looked back, Mrs. Langdon was sitting on the floor, crying uncontrollably and repeatedly wailing: "My eldest grandson, he's gone."
When I finished my check-up and came out of the doctor's office, I saw him waiting at the door.
His eyes were bloodshot, with tears still glistening in them, as if he had just been crying intensely.
"Don't you have anything to say to me?" His voice was hoarse beyond recognition.
I shook my head, "There's nothing left to say between us. Let's just part ways amicably."
"Summer! I still love you. How can you expect me to just let go? I never imagined we would break up." His words were filled with sobs and despair.
