chapter 27- A Bad Joke

DAMON~

"Are you scared?" I heard my father ask from behind me.

"A little bit," I answered.

"You don't have to be." He assured me as he placed his palm on my shoulders and looked at me "Being scared isn't always a bad thing."

"I don't want to be scared," I replied taking a frightened step back, with his hand on my shoulder he came to my front and knelt before me.

"Good, that means you know the value of your life, fear is what keeps strong men alive, No one wants to be scared Son, we all want to be fearless when we act but that's impossible. You are Damon Langdon, you are my Son, fear doesn't hold back Langdon's, all it does is motivate us.", The way he spoke made me feel that indeed fear was just a construct, I stepped forward and looked down the cliff and I couldn't even see or hear the waves crashing against the shore.
