Chapter 68- What We Become

DAMON~

My mind was a scattered mess, littered with expenses and reports I had no idea how to organize. What was once my room had now been converted into an office. Files stacked to the ceiling, seemingly relentless and never-ending, I let out an exhausted groan as I tossed one of them to the pile that sat beside my table.

"I'm gonna lose my mind," I said to myself as I tugged at the strands of my hair.

"I doubt that Alpha," Carlos replied.

"Don't call me that," I said, My voice filled with the embodiment of my unstable nerves, I lifted my head and turned to him.

"Have the riots subsided?"

"No."

"Challengers?"

"Growing each day, both for the position of the Alpha and Beta," Carlos replied blankly. It was understandable they saw neither of us as worthy of the position we have.

"I need an advisor." I groaned.
