Chapter 116- She’s Dead

Damon's pov

 

 

Carlos walked next to me with an unreadable expression. He didn't know what I was going to show him. 

 

His voice was low as he said.

 

"She's been here the whole time?"

 

I nodded.

 

" I wanted to let you witness what betrayal looks like for yourself."

 

Betrayal. My tongue tasted bitter after hearing the word. Like an unhealing wound, the memory was still vivid. The burning feeling in my throat, the blurriness of my vision, and my utter shock upon realizing what was going on. 

 

She was the reason I had nearly died. . . Nevertheless, I didn't. 

 

A weird uneasy sensation that I couldn't get rid of got in my chest as we got closer to the heavy iron door that led to her cell. Quick glances were exchanged between the guards standing at attention. 

 

I knew immediately that something was terribly off.
