Chapter 9

At the time, my mother was the head of gynecology at the local hospital.

Once when she came to visit me at school, she spotted Meadow from afar and curiously asked, "Is that your classmate?"

At that time, I was troubled by Levi and Meadow's past. Hearing her question, I snapped back irritably, "Yes."

Seeing my annoyed expression, my mother didn't press further.

Asher searched everywhere for information, even tracking down my mother's former hospital colleagues. He finally pieced together the fragmented bits into a complete story.

It turned out that Meadow had taken a leave of absence from high school, confident she would marry into a wealthy family because she was carrying the child of a rich heir.

But the potential mother-in-law from the affluent family wouldn't let things go as Meadow wished.
