Chapter 6: Setting Sail

The sun hung low over Foosha Village as the final preparations for my journey came together. The sea breeze carried the promise of adventure, and I could feel the call of the Grand Line tugging at my heart. My training was complete, and my resolve was stronger than ever. It was time.

Standing at the edge of the dock, I gazed out over the endless blue horizon. A small raft, hastily built but sturdy enough for my journey, bobbed gently in the water., its sails furled and ready for the winds to guide us. My straw hat shaded my eyes, the same hat Shanks had entrusted to me all those years ago. Today, I would finally begin my journey to become the Pirate King.

Makino stood nearby, her gentle smile tinged with concern. "Luffy, are you sure you're ready for this? The sea... it's dangerous."

I grinned, tipping my hat back. "I've never been more ready. I've trained hard, and I know what I have to do. I'm going to be the Pirate King!"

She nodded, though her eyes reflected a worry she couldn't voice. "Just... be careful, alright? Garp may have left you be, but there will be others who won't."

I nodded, understanding the weight of her words. The world wouldn't give me an easy path. But I wasn't looking for easy. I was ready for anything.

As the sun dipped closer to the horizon, the villagers gathered to see me off. I could hear whispers among them, doubts and fears, but also admiration. They knew me as the reckless boy who had once dreamed of adventure—and now, I was finally making it happen.

With one last glance at the village I had called home for so long, I stepped onto my small raft, its simple wooden planks creaking under my feet.. The ropes were untied, and the sails caught the wind. The ship lurched forward, the waves carrying me into the unknown.

Not long into my voyage, I found myself near a strange ship anchored in the distance. Curious, I approached, only to hear shouting and the clash of steel. Boarding the vessel, I saw a young man being forced to scrub the deck under the cruel eye of a pirate captain—Alvida.

Alvida's massive frame towered over me as she swung her club menacingly. "Who are you, brat? Think you can challenge me?"

I grinned, stepping forward without fear. "I'm Luffy, and I'm going to be the Pirate King!"

She laughed mockingly, charging at me. But I had mastered Haki. With a focused stare, I released a surge of Conqueror's Haki, making the weaker pirates collapse. Alvida staggered, wide-eyed, but I finished her with a single powerful punch, sending her crashing into the mast.

The young deckhand, Koby, stared in awe. "Wh-what was that power? You're amazing!"

I smiled, helping him up. "That was Haki. But never mind that—what's your story?"

As Koby shared his tale of being taken captive, we heard a noise from below deck. Investigating, we found a orange-haired girl rummaging through Alvida's stolen loot. She looked up, startled, ready to defend herself.

"Who are you?" I asked.

She smirked. "Name's Nami. And I was just leaving."

But before she could escape, the ship rocked as reinforcements arrived. The real adventure was only beginning.
