CHAPTER THREE

The search for the woman with the tattoo had gone into full gear, and the entire place was in a frenzy, but how easy could it be for them to discover a lady with a tattoo among the millions of people who inhabited the city?

He was frustrated and still couldn't come to terms with the fact that he had lost over half a billion dollars.

Sometimes, he thought about it but managed to push it to the back of his mind more often than not.

A few days in, Williams was exhausted from the search, and he had no choice but to call off the search. There were more important activities that required their attention but he still couldn't get his mind off her.

The way she spoke that day at the bank.. her confidence.. There was no way he could ever forget those..

As he sat in his swiveling chair, his gaze narrowed into a corner, and he seemed lost in his thoughts. Knocks rang continuously on the door, but he didn't hear even one of them.

"Sir Williams," a voice managed to reach his ears. He raised his head with his gaze fixed on him. He stared at the door, wondering who it was that was speaking.

It was Jay.

The middle-aged man glared right at him with his hands by his side. "What's the report?" Williams asked, his voice a resounding echo.

"We still haven't found her, sir," he strutted, his eyes flickering incessantly . "The search for her is still on, and we can assure you we are going to find her no matter what happens."

Williams ogled hard at him, frustration in his eyes. He shut them tight and slammed his hands against the table.

"I do appreciate your hard work , but I need you to do more. We need to find her immediately. We cannot afford to waste time," he muttered, his voice, soft but resounding.

"We would continue with the search sir, and make sure we find her.."

"Thank You! But what I still don't understand is how we have all the sources in our grasp and we still can't find this woman. Is she some sort of ghost? I'm lost here.." his brows were creased in frustration.

He was dying to see her, to hold her in his arms and then make her pay for what she did. He could imagine her on his bed, pleading for mercy from him.

"We have no idea sir , but I can assure you that we won't relent. We'll have this woman brought to you very soon.." he assured, nodding his head vehemently.

"Thanks Jay. If there's nothing else, you may take your leave.."

Jay lowered his head a bit and walked out of the office.

The cool breeze from the air conditioning unit made William's skin tingle more than he had ever imagined.

His eyes were shut, and he seemed to be basking in some bizarre feeling. Suddenly, the door flung open and in walked a tall and heavily built Man.

"Rock!!" He shrieked, his face brightening a bit. He jumped to his feet and locked him in a tight embrace.

Rock was his best friend and had been out of the country for almost a month.

"What's up Williams.. How have you been?" Rock asked when they finally broke away from each other.

Williams sighed, sinking his ass into the chair beside his best friend. "Phew.. at the moment? I'm good."

Rock chuckled, hitting Williams on the arm. "I heard what happened, Man. How could you allow a woman to do this to you.."

"Broo.. I never could have envisaged something like this happening in my entire life."

"Really? I can bet my ass that wouldn't have happened if I was around. You're such a weak boy. What can you even do without me?"

They laughed over it, their voices filling the air.

A loud, rumbling sound suddenly covered the room. Williams' eyes flared as he knew the source of the disturbance.

"Goodness gracious," he clutched his belly, a thick frown adorning his brows.

Rock frowned, "What's the problem? Why do you look like you're about to stool?" He teased, poking him in the belly.

"I haven't eaten anything since morning, and it's almost noon."

"Really? Maybe you were waiting for me to arrive.." Rock grinned as the words traced from his lips.

"Waiting for you? You didn't even tell me you'd be coming back today.."

Rock rolled his eyes and mimicked him a bit. He dug his hands into his pocket as he maintained his gaze with Williams

"It wouldn't be bad to eat out, would it?" He grinned to himself and reached for the keys to his newly acquired Maybach from his desk.

"That's right. I heard there's a new restaurant in town.."

"You heard right. That same restaurant has grown to be my favorite. I'm sure you'll love it."

Once in his car, he zoomed out of the house without any care or worry. After working without a break, this was a kind of break for him, especially with the sudden arrival of Rock.

Monitoring the activities of a syndicate as large as his was a huge task that only a few could carry out.

There was a strange excitement within him, one he couldn't wrap his arms around.

Losing such an amount of money and still being excited was something that made no sense to him. Perhaps, it was because of Rock's sudden appearance.

They continued the drive along the tarred road, blasting music from his car until they arrived at The Dove.

You could say it was the most exquisite restaurant in town, and only the wealthy could afford it.

They drove into the parkway without care or worry, startling the security, who were a few paces away. He promulgated until he and Rock were standing in front of the restaurant door.

It came open immediately, and as they walked, his eyes scanning the entire place.

Being extra careful was one thing Williams needed no one to remind him about. He had his share of rivals who wanted him out of the picture, and he couldn't afford to be caught off guard.

With a nod of the head and after ascertaining the coast was clear, he strode in and headed right to the VIP section.

A tall and slender waitress walked up to him, smiling wide at him.

"Good afternoon, sir. It's a pleasure to have you here today. What would you like to have?"

William snorted, receiving the menu from her. He had nothing in mind, and even after staring at it for a few seconds, he still couldn't make up his mind.

"I'll just have the best meal you have to offer. I can't seem to make a choice here," he muttered and handed the menu to Rock. "You should make your choice as well."

Rock stared at it for a few seconds, exchanged a few words to the waitress and handed the menu back to her.

"Alright Sirs'. I'll be right back." The waitress went off, her ass swaying from left to right. Williams' eyes followed it until a thick voice reached his ears, jolting him back to reality.

He raised his head and before him stood the same lady he had met at the club the previous day.

Her sexy and appealing body was clad in a black gown, making her look so ravishing.

"Hey damsel. I never thought I'd be meeting you here," he said, completely surprised.

She smiled, gently nodding her head. "Good afternoon, Williams.."

"My bad! Good afternoon, gorgeous lady. You look so pretty, just like the other day."

"Thank You, by the way, this is my table, so I'd love you to excuse me." She said in a calm and gentle voice, winking at him as she sat on one of the chairs.

He smacked his lips together and placed his hands on the table, close to her. "It's not a bad idea if we share, is It?"

Rock stared on in silence. He was fascinated to see his friend flirting with a woman. This was something he had never seen him do in a very very long while.

The way she spoke to him sent goosebumps through him. He could bet Williams had finally met his match, but deep within him, he had a nagging feeling that this woman could be dangerous.

The way she spoke and the look in her eyes. There was something about it Rock couldn't exactly wrap his arms around.

"Oh yes, but I am with guests and that wouldn't be possible.." The pretty lady said.

Williams smiled. Suddenly, the manly Ego in him rose. "And what if I decide not to leave?" He grinned.

"Then I cannot guarantee what's going to happen to you, my darling?"

The beast in him awakened softly, and he was dying to hold her in his arms. He squinted, "Now, I'm curious to know what's going to happen."

She chuckled. "Take a look at the other side of the restaurant. I have three fierce looking men lying in wait."

William's neck turned in the direction she pointed to and he could see the men.. They were daunting and looked Just like the men in his mafia.

"To the right, I have six men as well. Do you still want to know what's going to happen?"

A cold chill ran down his spine at her words. She had the nerves, and somehow, it increased his feelings for her.

"If I may ask, why do you have so many bodyguards? To think I thought you could kill with your eyes. I guess you're more than I thought, right?" He winked as he stared on in fascination.

She chuckled, moving closer to him. "Keep unexpectedly meeting me, and you'll probably know more."
