Selene~
The light crept into the room straight falling onto my face. Can't the night be longer? I thought to myself, not having the energy to open my eyelids. I could still smell Lucian's faint scent on me. A knock echoed in the room. "Come in," I whispered and the door got opened. The moment, those maids's gaze fell on me, I could hear them gasp in shock. I never let anyone see my body, but today I did not care much. A doll should not have any emotions. They just do what they have been told by their masters.
I was neither upset nor I felt scared.
Numb. Just like a lifeless doll.
"Are you fine, Luna? Can you sit?" The maids supported my limp body to get settled. As I tried to straighten my back, the pain made me groan. "Are you alright, Luna?" One of the maids asked. I knew them, they were Kara's maids. Probably here to dig up some information for their lady. I stared at her devoid of any emotion. "No, I am not. Will you help me?" My question made them both fluster.
I scoffed at their reaction. "Help me get ready for the event," I ordered. They both violently nodded their head. Supporting me, they took me to the bathroom. I lay in the bathtub. The cold water soothed the scratches and marks. My eyes were closed, I could still hear them whispering to each other. I already did not have much sleep last night and their bickering was not helping either. I held my hand high and one of them came forward, "Do you need anything, Luna?"
"Yes, shut up and help me bathe." My voice was low, yet I maintained the authority, making her unsettled. Both of them started to apply potions and herbs to my body. In no time, the wounds healed but the marks were still there. Tomorrow, you'll belong to him—but remember, you'll always be mine, I recalled his words. You were right, Lucian; I will always be yours because no one would want me. I doubt if that barbarian would be interested in this body which is covered in ugly marks.
After bathing, I chose a violet dress which covered almost my whole body. Tieing my hair in a low bun, the maids decorated it with every possible ornament. Not even sparing a glance at the mirror, I stood up but lost my balance. Though the wounds were healed my body was still weak to carry this heavy dress and ornaments.
The maids helped me walk out of the room. As we reached in front of the temple, I turned to them. I glanced at each of them. Their heads are low, staring at the ground, scared of what I will do next. Do I look like them when I face Lucian? I thought to myself. I took a deep breath and stated, "Look at me." As their gaze met mine, a smile curled on my face, "I apologize for my rude behavior."
The shock was evident on their face. "Luna, did we do something wrong?" I shook my head and replied, "Soon I will be a mere stranger to you both and this Silverthorn pack. So, forgive this stranger, so I can leave in peace."
Both shared a look when the bells of the temple rang. It's time. I turned to leave when I heard them, "Luna, we want to apologize too. We always thought that you were rude that's why you didn't want lowly people like us to help you."
"It's all in the past. So, I also forgive you both."

"Selene Mooncrest, daughter of the late Alpha Zade, in the presence of this holy idol of Moon Goddess, ask you. Do you accept that the bond will be annulled between you and the Alpha Lucian Silvershade?"
My eyes were still on the ground. For four years, I was married to the man standing far from me. You belong to me, he always said that while defiling me and my soul, but now I think even the devil cannot escape fate.
I raised my gaze at the grand idol standing in front of me. She was our goddess. Whatever she did was for our own good, and now I might believe in her and the fate she chose for me. " I, Selene Mooncrest, in the presence of Moon Goddess, accept this annulment."
I have surrendered to you goddess. My life is in your hands.
The priest then asked Lucian, and he also accepted it. I could feel his heating gaze at me. The priest came forward, took the rings, and put them in a bowl filled with holy water. After chanting a few words, he poured the water on the ground, and the rings disappeared.
"With permission of both the bride, groom and the goddess, I hereby declare the annulment of this marriage." The priest announced.
"It ended," I whispered to myself. I looked at my empty ring finger, and when Zara replied in my head, "No, it's just a start."
I was walking out of the temple when I saw Zoe and their mother approaching me. Zoe ran past her and took me in a hug. I inhaled her scent wanting to remember it. "Don't worry, you will be okay. It's a good thing, pregnant women were not allowed to enter else we have to watch Kara's ugly face." I chuckled at her words. As Mother reached, she asked, "Let her go, Zoe. We can talk to her in the home." Zoe nodded and pulled herself.
As we walked towards our old home, Mother held my hand, "Zoe is right, Selene. You are your father's brave daughter and I know you would not show your emotions to us just like him." We kept walking when she again said, "Remember, darling, no matter what problem arises in front of you, we always be by your side. You never were, are, and never will be alone."
A released a sharp breath, when a commotion started. "What is happening there?" Zoe walked towards the crowd, "Zoe, No." I tried to stop her but she was already walking in that direction. I glanced at my mother and asked, "Mother, you go home, I will be back with Zoe."
With this, I bundled up the dress in my hands and took long strides towards her. "Zoe, stop," I shouted but the uproar coming from commotion suppressed my call. Getting into the crowd, I pushed through the crowd trying to find her when I reached the front. Zoe was on the left side of the crowd, and I tried to move in her direction, but before I could take another step, something splashed in my face.
The commotion grew, and people started shouting. Women's screams echoed. Zoe, when she saw me, she came forward, her eyes widened in horror. "Sister, you.."
My hand slowly reached for my face. Getting some of that warm liquid on my fingers. As my eyes saw the liquid, Zara's voice growled in my mind.
Blood. Fresh blood.
I looked at the man who was standing a few steps away. He carried a man's hand and in his other hand, he carried a sword, soaked in the blood. He was double the height of any normal werewolf. His long black hair was set back. His eyes were red, shining like a ruby, but they were terrifyingly cold and calm. Unexpectedly, his eyes met with mine, and he growled in his hoarse voice, "Mine."
