Family Reunion

Aria and Dexter stood at the Headmaster's door, Dr. Quinn had told them the Headmaster had called for them. Dexter was hesitant to go in but Aria assured him nothing would go wrong. With the reassurance Dexter knocked on the door

"Come in" The Headmaster voice sounded from the other side of the door.

Dexter and Aria stepped into the office, it was their first time in his office.

It obviously exuded Authority and history. It was spacious, with tall arched windows that allowed beams of sun.

The Headmaster stood at the window looking outside, his dark blue hair streaked with silver linings reflected with the light giving the headmaster a sophisticating look.

"Long time no see kids" He said not turning back. Dexter stepped forward with a frustrated look but Aria held him back.

"Care to tell us why you called for us Dad" She said calmly but the hint of anger was noticeable.

"Don't be like that kids" He smiled finally turning to them.

"It's a family reunion, why don't you have a cup of tea" He said taking his seat and pouring tea to the mug on his table.

Dexter stepped forward knocking the mug of the table. Aria held him on his shoulder signaling they should leave.

"If you don't have anything to say, we'll be taking our leave now" Aria said before moving out.

But on their way, a blond lady appeared right in front of them, Aria immediately used ice to slide away while Dexter drew out his bow, summoning three arrows aiming it at her. While the Headmaster sat relaxed observing the lady.

"Where do you think you're going?" The lady said with a maniac smile, "The party is just getting started"

She summoned a rapier and lunged for the Headmaster.

But Aria intercepted her attack by sending series of large Icicles towards her. Without warning, she vanished.

Headmaster Alaric acted instantly slamming his hands on the ground. A wave of ice shot out in all directions, spikes and walls forming rapidly to block any attempt at close range. "Keep her at distance" He shouted.

The lady reappeared behind Dexter, her blade flashing to the rays from the sun as she swung towards his back.

Dexter barely had enough time to react, taking a large step back sending sets of ice arrows at her direction, but the blade sliced through it with ease. She closed the space between them and gave him another blow that sent him flying to the shelves.

"Shit!!" Aria cursed casting another series of ice walls, trying to corral her movement. But it was like trying to trap the wind-she had already vanished, teleporting again.

Dexter regained his balance and let loose another arrow, its icy tip whistling through the air toward where the lady had appeared. But she vanished, the arrow embedding itself harmlessly in an ice pillar.

"She's too fast!" Aria said, as she summoned a storm of ice shards to hover above her. With a flick of her wrist, she sent the sharp shards flying in all directions, hoping to catch her mid-teleport.

The lady reappeared in the midst of the shards, her blade a whirlwind of motion as she deflected the ice shard with ease. She darted forward, her sword cutting through the air in a lethal arc aimed directly at Aria's throat.

In the blink of an eye, Alaric was there, an ice shield forming around Aria just as the blade struck. The impact cracked the ice, but it held for a moment, long enough for him to push Aria out of the way.

"Fall back!" he barked. "She's toying with you" He held her sword and pushed her away as he took a retreat.

"Dexter now!" he yelled

Dexter fired another arrow, this time aiming not at the lady, but at the ground below her. The arrow shattered upon impact, releasing a burst of frost that spread out instantly, freezing everything in a wide radius.

The lady wasn't there anymore. She blinked in and out of existence, her form appearing for a split second before vanishing again, each time closer to her targets.

Then she appeared directly in front of Dexter, her sword already in motion.

Time seemed to slow. Dexter tried to leap back, but the blade was too fast. It slashed across his side, cutting through his uniform, the sharp sting of pain caused him to gasp. He stumbled, clutching his wound as the cold seeped into his body.

"No!" Aria cried, sending a jagged spear of ice toward the lady. But with a casual swing, she shattered it mid-air.

Alaric raised a hand summoning an ice sword.

"Enough!" He said calmly, his eyes as cold as ice, he was pissed. He lunged at an incredible speed catching the lady off guard. He struck her, the force of the blow sent her flying through the window down to the school lawn. Almost immediately massive pillars of ice erupted from the earth surrounding the lady from all sides.

"This ends now" He said closing his hands.

The ice shot toward her in every direction, a prison of frost and freezing air, crushing her sides. But the lady smirked raising her blade and vanished once more.

She reappeared with the wounds from the attack, she was losing a large amount of blood. She pointed the blade towards Alaric and said a word.

"Release"

A sudden burst of mana occurred. Aria stepped towards the broken window looking at the lady below with shock

"She is a system user but how?" Aria muttered to herself.

The lady vanished again and reappeared directly behind Alaric. He had only a heartbeat to react, but it wasn't enough. The sword sliced through his side, blood staining the pure white beneath.

Alaric used the opportunity to take hold of her sword, freezing it. The lady gave a maniac smile, breaking her sword, she gave Alaric an unexpected kick. He blocked it with his arm, freezing it.

She then vanished and reappeared at the lawn close to her blood. She watched as the garden became icy cold and snow beginning to fall.

Alaric was summoning a blizzard.

She started to laugh hysterically "Wonderful, wonderful, not many mages can do something of this level"

She took a battle stance, bending her body like a mad woman.

Pounced at Alaric who blocked every advance, her existence like a glitch.

Vanishing and appearing at incredible speed attacking Alaric from all sides. But the Headmaster was faster countering all her attacks. She finally stopped after noticing all she was doing was futile.

"Tch" The lady stood pissed

"What's your name?" Alaric asked his voice cold as the blizzard.

"A dead man wants to know my name" She taunted

Alaric took a step forward and everything in a wide radius began to freeze "I guess it doesn't matter" He said taking another step.

The lady looked around and noticed Aria watching from the shattered window then smirked. She vanished once more. Alaric stood preparing for an attack.

"Oi, Headmaster"

Alaric turned and fell into shock, the lady had her shattered sword on the throat of Aria threatening to kill her.

"She's your daughter right?" She gave another maniac smile "Surrender and I won't kill her"

Alaric stood there like he was frozen, like hell he would believe her? He began to think of ways to interfere, but he knew despite the fact that the lady was badly wounded, she could still teleport meaning Aria would be dead the minute he moved.

"What's this? Don't tell me you'll abandon your own daughter…." She started laughing again but was interrupted with an arrow that pierced through her chest. She turned towards the direction it came from.

Dexter despite his injury managed to raise his bow, his hands shaking with effort. He fired on last arrow, its icy tip whistled through the air piercing through the lady's head. She gave a gasp of breath before falling off the already broken window landing at Alaric's feet.

He walked over her freezing her corpse with cold ice. He looked at his children with pride. Aria walked over to Dexter , catching him before he fell unconscious.

Alaric took it to notice to commend them for their actions later.

He turned to the lady's corpse but instead found a hooded figure standing beside her corpse.

"Hey there, who are you?"

No reply from the figure.

Alaric walked towards the figure and tried touching its shoulder but saw his arm in the air. It took him moments to realize his arm had been cut off. He immediately struck the figure with a blizzard of icicles.

But everything seemed to have no effect on the hooded figure. The figure didn't even move but it had already cut off one of Alaric's arm.

Alaric's guard went up but he didn't even realize when the figure was in front of him. It struck him a sword that shone along with the ice. The sword passed through his side cleanly. Alaric took a gasp of breath and fell on his knees. At that moment it let off the hood. A dark haired lady revealing herself.

Aria immediately recognized her

"Elena" She yelled her eyes full of bloodshot.

Elena took another step towards the Headmaster.

Alaric held his wound considering a retreat, if he was alone he could have been able to handle her but….

He turned to see an infuriated Aria. If not for the fact that she was badly wounded, she'd probably had rushed to attack the new opponent.

Elena began to walk slowly towards the Headmaster. Alaric tried moving but the injury brought him back to his knees. Elena was just a step away, she raised her sword towards his neck. But before she could deal a killing blow, an explosion erupting was heard.

Both Elena and Alaric turned towards the direction of the noise. Smoke and cinder were seen going up, Alaric eye's widened when he realized that the pinpoint was the Assessment room where all the students were gathered.

"I guess Darius is done with his task" Elena said with an expressionless face.

Suddenly Ethan landed between Elena and Alaric. Ethan aimed at Elena giving her a palm-strike on the stomach. The strike dealt no harm but the force sent Elena a few feet backward.

At the same moment Dr. Quinn appeared at Alaric's side.

"Take them to safety" Ethan ordered Dr. Quinn. She nodded helping the headmaster to get up before leaving for the health center.

Elena's face remained expressionless, Ethan stepped forward more than ready to face her but she just sighed and began to walk away. Ethan used the opportunity to go for her back. Elena with incredible speed caught his palm, twisting it and kicked him sending him flying backwards.

"I'm not interested in fighting a fallen hunter like you"

The words of Elena struck Ethan like a blade. Elena stopped by her partner's body and after examining it, she pierced her arm through the torso removing a pearl like item from her chest.

Ethan's eyes widened, it was the same as the one Casper had but smaller with a different design

"Besides I think you should check on your students" Elena said cresting the item to her chest before disappearing into thin air.
