Pain.
That was all Ryo felt.
Lucien twisted the knife deeper, his sadistic grin never fading.
Blood dripped from Ryo's wound, staining the ground beneath him.
"You know, I don't usually take my time with people," Lucien murmured. "But you… you're special."
He leaned in, whispering in Ryo's ear.
"I wonder how much more you can take before you break."
Ryo's fingers tightened around his sword.
His vision blurred. His body screamed in pain.
But his mind was clear.
I can't die here.
Not before he found out the truth about this world.
Not before he survived the second scenario.
Not before he avenged Haruto.
Lucien grinned, raising his knife for the final strike.
But this time—
Ryo moved first.
Before Lucien could react, Ryo grabbed his wrist.
Lucien's eyes flickered with surprise. "Huh?"
Ryo's grip tightened like iron.
And then—
With all his strength, he wrenched the knife out of his own side.
Blood sprayed, but Ryo ignored the pain.
Lucien barely had time to react before—
Ryo's forehead slammed into his face.
CRACK.
Lucien staggered back, dazed.
Ryo didn't let him recover.
He swung his sword upward, slashing across Lucien's chest.
Blood sprayed.
Lucien hissed in pain, his grin finally faltering.
Ryo breathed heavily, his body trembling from blood loss.
But he stood his ground.
"Not so fun when your opponent fights back, huh?" he spat.
Lucien looked down at his wound—then touched his bleeding nose.
And then—
He laughed.
"You…" His eyes glowed with excitement. "You're really something."
He grinned wider, despite the blood dripping from his face.
"But I wonder—how much longer can you last?"
Ryo tightened his grip on his sword.
He didn't know.
But he sure as hell wasn't going to back down now.
Kael and Shiori rushed toward Ryo's battle.
Shiori gasped when she saw the blood covering him. "He's hurt!"
Kael gritted his teeth.
Lucien was strong. Too strong.
Ryo had been fighting him alone—and still standing.
Kael clenched his fists. I can't let him fight alone anymore.
His eyes locked onto Lucien.
"We take him down. Together."
Shiori nodded. "Right."
Lucien saw them coming and laughed.
"Oh? More entertainment?" He licked his lips. "Good. I was getting bored."
Kael raised his sword.
Shiori readied her dagger.
And Ryo—despite his injuries—stood beside them.
This battle wasn't over.
Not yet.
