"He really made a mess of that explanation."
Location: ????, the Serpent Goddess called "Tiama" was still sitting on her throne. She was staring off in the distance with a smile on her face.
"Well, I'm sure he'll handle everything the best he can."
A light flashed in the room and a phoenix appeared in front of her. A frown appeared on her face.
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm looking for your husband. I need to talk to him about some issues he could be facing soon."
A soothing female voice came from the phoenix.
"Issues? What issues could he face? Unless your husband or that greenhorn turn against him, my husband is invincible."
"Fate, we've found traces of the system's revival."
Tiama sat up in her throne.
"Which one of the multiverses?"
"The Satan and The Hero's Multiverses."
"Then you believe that they'll be traces here in The God's Multiverse too…Considering all three were originally one universe, it makes sense."
Tiama stood from her throne.
"My husband is with his Generals observing many different worlds. I'll take you to him."
She walked with the Phoenix following behind her.
"So they all come together and observe the countless worlds when they're bored? My husband does the same thing. Sometimes I think he does it too much."
Tiama laughed.
"That sounds like him. It must be my husband's and my blood in him."
"Well, it's better than when they and The Hero would fight to pass the time…I should've raised your husband better."
The Phoenix sighed.
"I can say the same for yours."
The two's voices faded away as they left the space.
Back on the Promised Land, House of the Lord.
"Wow, this place looks better than how it did when I destroyed it."
Giovanni sat around the meeting table. He put his feet on the table while looking around. Everyone else looked at him with various emotions across their faces.
"So let me get this straight, you're the person Lord Octivinus sent to help us."
Kelz asked before sitting at the table.
"Actually, Tiama sent me but pretty much the same thing."
Giovanni stuck out his tongue. It had a tattoo of a dragon emerging from the sea on it.
"A dragon?"
Zagon was confused.
"You summoned a winged serpent when fighting me, right? What do you call that?"
Giovanni smirked.
"It's rather complicated but the Phoenix and the Serpent you guys worship are mere lesser versions of their true identities. Even the names Octivinus and Tiama aren't their real names."
"Then what are thei—"
"Sorry, Damini. I'm forbidden to say anything regarding that."
He cut off Damini while shaking his head.
"Also, it's not like I know everything. I was only given a drop of information."
"I see…"
He smiled at Damini's disappointed expression.
"I don't really care for things far beyond our understanding."
Zagon spoke up.
"If you're here to help us, I feel a bit disrespected. You're someone who tried to destroy us."
"We'll Zaggy, I don't care about your feelings. I'm just here to do my job. Your Gods decided you need my help. If you have a problem with that, talk to them. However, my intention is fulfilling my end of the bargain, so they do the same."
"Do you mean granting us immortality?"
Raphael spoke with a troubled expression.
"You don't want immortality?"
Raphael didn't answer. Giovanni looked at the rest of his children but none of them answered either. They all had troubled expressions on their faces.
"Well, it is a hard pill to swallow. You live forever as long as you're not killed. You won't age beyond your prime, and your future partners will die before you. Not only that, your descendents will suffer the same fate."
Giovanni sighed.
"However, it isn't permanent. I was given the authority to take away your immortality whenever you want. So, you don't need to stress and just enjoy it for now."
"What about you? Will you keep on living without us?"
Gina asked.
"Pretty much. Some of you might not want immortality, but there will be some who do. For example, your descendants. I need to stay alive so I can guide them until they're ready to die."
"Then you're cursed."
Chul spoke up.
"You'll continue to live as long as one of your or our descendents lives. You'll live as a grim reaper who grants death to his own family forever. You'll live a life of complete solitude."
Chul grimaced and clenched his fists. Giovanni wore a smile.
"You don't need to worry about that."
He pointed at Zagon and Kelz.
"I'll have them to keep me company."
"What?"
The twins looked at Giovanni in shock.
"From what I learned, Lords life spans are almost infinite unless killed. The previous Lords only decided to enter eternal slumber once they believed it was time to usher a new era. In other words, they chose death. These two can't do that because their era as Lords will be the most violent and turbulent. Even after everything stabilizes, they'll have to manage everything like mixing with the outside world. It will take centuries before they can afford to raise successors and have families."
Giovanni pointed at Zyna.
"The only way they'll step down is if she has children with exceptional talent surpassing them. Considering they're the strongest Lords ever, that will be nearly impossible."
He smirked.
"So unless you commit suicide, we're stuck together."
"….I'm honestly considering that."
Zagon mumbled.
"As for the immortality thing, we'll do as you say and think about it."
Roxanne spoke. A gentle smile appeared on her face.
"While death is the completion of life, I don't want to leave you alone nor do I want you to be burdened with my death. That might change in the future, but for now I want to enjoy my time with my family."
Her siblings nodded in agreement. Giovanni smiled and opened his mouth—
"My masterpiece!"
Feng burst through the door shouting at the top of his lungs. He looked around and spotted Giovanni. Tears flowed down his cheeks as he leaped at him.
"You're alive, My Boy!"
Giovanni grabbed the chair Ryder was still sitting on and threw it. Ryder jumped off the chair and it smacked Feng out of the air.
"Stop calling me with that tone. It creeps me out."
Giovanni showed a rare look of disgust.
"But, My Boy?!"
Feng sprung to his feet like nothing happened.
"I'm not your boy! We're in the same age group!"
"But I gave birth to you!"
"Stop wording things so creepily, you damn quack!"
Kelz and Zagon watched the exchange with delight.
(It's kinda nice to see him this troubled.)
(I agree, sister.)
The two laughed.
"You two!"
Giovanni pointed at them.
"Stop mocking me telepathically and get this thing off me!"
He was trying to force Feng off his leg but he wouldn't budge.
"How is this bastard so strong?!"
"How is it?"
Zagon smirked.
"Having a taste of your own medicine?"
He laughed until Giovanni grabbed him by his collar.
"You bastard, let me go!"
"Once he let me go!"
"Oh, My Boy! Let's return to the lab, so I can check you up!"
Just like this, Giovanni's return ended chaotically.
Several months later. The location was the Sahara desert, near the border of Algeria and Libya. There was a large gathering of vehicles near a massive tent. These vehicles were all luxurious and were driven by people in expensive clothing. These people were gathered inside the tent, where they were seated before a hologram. The hologram was of Gustav Fernandez with his date of birth and date of death underneath.
"I can't believe I'm at my own funeral."
Giovanni mumbled while sitting at the front row.
"Well, I can't just pop up one day as a teenager. It would make things difficult for our future plans."
"But did you have to give yourself such a stupid cover?"
Raphael said next to him.
"Being your own secret child is a bit…"
"What do you mean? It's a stroke of genius."
"The two of you shush. Melissa is about to speak."
Roxanne, who was on Giovanni's left, shush them. Someone approached a podium behind the hologram. It was a woman with caramel skin, shining black hair that flowed to her hips, and a soft pair of green eyes. She wore a black strapless gown with floral designs on the cuffs and ends.
"Hello, everyone. My name is Melissa Fernandez, only daughter of Gustav Fernandez. I'm honored you're all here to celebrate and mourn the life of my father, who suddenly passed away from a heart attack."
"Heart attack? Really? So original. Ow!"
Gina slapped the back of Ryder's head to shut him up. Melissa continued to speak. She spoke of loving memories she shared with her father and his caring nature.
"Man, she sure sells the whole saint image of her father thing. Too bad it's all lies."
Damini mumbled.
"It's not like she can talk about all the illegal stuff we taught her and all the violence she grew up with."
Chul added. Near the end, Melissa became teary-eyed and her voice started to break.
"Daddy, I will always look towards the sky when I'm feeling lonely. I just know God is happy one of his angels has returned to him."
(The devil is sitting right here.)
The siblings thought in unison. Meanwhile, Giovanni was wiping the tears from his eyes.
"Beautiful, simply beautiful."
He stood up and clapped, drawing everyone's attention. After the funeral, he and Melissa walked with an urn on top of a sand hill.
"Did I do good, Daddy?"
"Marvelous. I expect nothing less from my daughter."
Giovanni gave her a thumbs up.
"By the way, whose ashes are those?"
"Oh, they're the ashes of someone who tried to blackmail my fiancé into giving them money."
Melissa spoke with a smile.
"What were they blackmailing him with?"
"Evidence he killed someone in college."
"He left evidence? Amateur."
Giovanni frowned.
"He was really upset he wasn't invited to the funeral. He really thinks you're dead after all."
"He's lucky it's not his ashes being thrown across the Sahara Desert."
Melissa rested her head on his shoulder.
"I'm glad you're okay, Daddy. Even though it's weird you're younger than me now."
Giovanni gently rubbed her head.
"Have you contacted your parents yet? They should've reverted to their younger selves by now, right?"
"I haven't contacted them yet. I'll do it before I start the operation to bring Gehenna into this world."
"What about Mom? Are you going to contact her? I mean you gave her a demon fish years ago, right? She should have superhuman strength too."
"Your mother was always a superhuman."
Giovanni laughed.
"I'll probably contact her soon. Since she was adopted in my family before we got married, there's a chance she's reverted to her prime and is immortal too. It would be great if she could help me out and not side with somebody else. It would be a pain if she did."
He took the urn from Melissa.
"There's a mountain of things I want to do, countless people I want to meet, so much fun to have."
He pulled the urn and scattered the ashes in the wind. He held Melissa tight and looked back at his children. He turned towards the horizon as his hair danced in the wind. A grin slowly bloomed on his face.
"Yeah, this is gonna be a fun ride."
