Elara whimpered, tears silently falling from the corners of her eyes.
Someone behind her offered a tissue, gently comforting her.
"Elara, please don't cry. Your tears are breaking my heart."
Elara froze instantly, her face turning ashen as she said, "What are you doing here? You're not welcome!"
Alec fell to his knees with a thud, sincerely apologizing, "Elara, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said those awful things to Martin. At first, I really thought it was just a prank. I never imagined he'd have an accident."
Elara didn't even glance at him, her expression grief-stricken as she said, "The guilty must pay. You should kowtow to Martin and beg for forgiveness."
Alec gently held her hand, his tone soft, "Elara, I'll do whatever you say. Please don't be so upset. You're pregnant now and can't handle stress. You need to take care of our little sweetheart."
With that, he kowtowed three times toward the hospital bed.
