The Unraveling Truth

Huo Xunzhou poured her a cup of hot water, forcefully propping her up, his voice as gentle as if he were coaxing a child, "Stop throwing a tantrum." He lowered his gaze, his eyes flickering with a mysterious light, as he brought the cup to her lips.

Nan Wan obediently lowered her head and drank the water.

Having been Huo Xunzhou's lover for several years, Nan Wan understood one simple truth: never defy this man.

Only when she had finished drinking did Huo Xunzhou release his hold. But he did not leave; instead, he remained at her bedside, his eyes still fixed on her, filled with deep affection.

Nan Wan felt an overwhelming discomfort, as though there were no escape from his gaze.

She knew she had returned to five years ago, but there were no additional memories of Huo Xunzhou. She didn't understand their relationship now, nor could she fathom why he was here at this moment.

The longer he stayed by her side, the more her unease grew.

Eventually, Huo Xunzhou took a call, something urgent from his company. Before leaving, he walked over to her, bent down, and kissed her forehead. His lips were cold, but his voice carried a hint of apology, "Wan Wan, there's something at the company, I have to leave."

The door clicked shut, and the lingering sensation on her forehead was unmistakable.

His kiss, like his touch, was as cold as ice.

Nan Wan quickly wiped the spot where he had kissed her, rubbing it until her forehead turned red, a faint sting remaining.

Outside the door, Huo Xunzhou's expression turned back to its usual coldness as he picked up the phone. His voice was as distant as ever, tinged with a certain chill, "Make sure Miss's room is tidied up. She'll be back tonight."

Nan Wan's fever wasn't serious, and after the IV, she could go home. She had expected to return to the dorm, but instead, Song Ma took her to the Huo family villa.

Nan Wan stared silently out the window, noticing for the first time the true beauty of Haicheng five years ago.

She had been trapped in Huo Xunzhou's world for so long that she had forgotten how beautiful the city was at night. The thousands of twinkling lights, the brilliant stars in the sky—it promised a beautiful tomorrow.

Huo Xunzhou had not returned yet, leaving only Song Ma and Nan Wan in the villa.

Song Ma took excellent care of her, but Nan Wan couldn't bring herself to ask any questions. She feared that even one wrong word might cause Song Ma to face the same fate as in her past life.

After dinner, Nan Wan excused herself, claiming a headache, and went to her room.

This was her room—familiar and unchanging. The feeling of being home was undeniable.

On the nightstand, Nan Wan noticed a notebook. Curious, she opened it, only to find it was her own diary.

The pages were filled with things she had never experienced.

In her past life, before meeting Huo Xunzhou, she had been an ordinary college student. But the diary chronicled events that started from her first year, all revolving around the moment she met Huo Xunzhou.

As she read, a deep chill settled over her.

This was her diary, she was certain. The emotions written on the pages—the innocent affection for Huo Xunzhou—were unmistakable.

But the man described in the diary, gentle, refined, always appearing when she needed him, smiling with warmth and charm—how could that be the same Huo Xunzhou she knew?

Nan Wan sat on her bed, hugging her knees tightly, her body trembling.

Unless…

Huo Xunzhou was also reborn, and his timeline was before hers.

He had deceived that innocent version of herself—the girl who didn't know the world—to become his girlfriend.
