The battlefield was eerily silent after the devastating battle. Xuian stood at the center, surrounded by his victorious forces. The bodies of the defeated Revenant Warlords lay scattered, some still faintly breathing, but none capable of continuing the fight.
Liriel wiped sweat from her brow. "We managed to take them down… but this was just a scouting force."
Xuian nodded, his gaze shifting toward the sky. "They were testing us."
Arvok rested his greatsword on his shoulder. "Then we made our message clear—this domain isn't falling."
Xuian smirked, but deep down, he knew the real battle hadn't even started.
Suddenly—
RUMBLE!
The sky above them split open, revealing an enormous, swirling vortex of energy. A dark red sigil appeared in the air, pulsing with pure destruction energy.
Liriel's face paled. "That's… not possible. The Revenant Council is responding this quickly?!"
From the vortex, six cloaked figures emerged, their presence alone distorting the space around them. Each radiated a pressure far stronger than the Warlords Xuian had just fought.
Xuian's grip on his sword tightened. "So they're finally taking me seriously."
Arrival of the Revenant Elders
The six figures floated high above the battlefield, their faces hidden beneath dark, ceremonial robes embroidered with forbidden runes.
One of them, a tall figure with a skeletal mask, spoke first. "Shadow Emperor Xuian. You've overstepped your place."
Another, with six glowing eyes beneath their hood, tilted their head. "You think defeating a few of our Warlords makes you a true ruler?"
Xuian raised an eyebrow, unbothered. "I think it proves that your Warlords weren't as strong as you believed."
A sharp silence followed.
Then, one of the elders chuckled. "Bold. I can see why the council is concerned about you."
Xuian crossed his arms. "If you're here to talk, then leave. If you're here to fight, then stop wasting my time."
The sky darkened further, the pressure increasing. One of the elders, a being made entirely of floating, shifting bones, raised a single finger.
"Kneel."
Instantly, an unseen force crashed down upon the battlefield, attempting to force Xuian and his commanders to the ground.
But Xuian's Celestial-Abyssal aura surged, shattering the suppression attempt.
He smirked. "You'll have to do better than that."
The bone elder's expression didn't change, but the aura around the Revenant Elders grew colder.
"Very well. We were ordered to negotiate."
Xuian's eyes gleamed with amusement. "Then negotiate."
The Council's Offer
The elder with six eyes stepped forward. "The Revenant Council acknowledges your strength. You have proven capable beyond our expectations."
Liriel frowned. "They're stalling."
Xuian remained silent, waiting.
The elder continued. "We offer you a position within the Revenant Hierarchy. Join us, and you will be granted resources, authority, and the right to expand your domain without interference."
Xuian let out a small laugh. "And in return?"
The elder's voice darkened. "Your loyalty. Your domain will operate under the Revenant Council's laws, and you will serve when called upon."
Xuian's smirk faded. "You want me to be a pawn."
The elder's expression remained unreadable. "We want you to be part of something greater."
Xuian let the silence drag on before answering. "I decline."
Liriel and the others tensed.
The six-eyed elder sighed. "Then you are our enemy."
Xuian grinned, his eyes gleaming with a mix of excitement and defiance. "I already was."
The sky rippled with energy—a battle was about to begin.
"Then die."
