Game of Thrones: The Witcher System

I didn't want to wait and I translated this myself up to chapter 300, honestly, I remembered it better, but when you can read it all in one go you realize that the only reason his trick is being a warlock is so he can always win fights in a more reasonable way, other than that, he almost never uses his powers, he even turns knights under his command into warlocks and it's literally as if nothing changes, he has access to posicones, alchemical bombs, etc. But he never uses any of that in combat, the author seems to have a fetish for chivalry because it's the only thing he uses in all of combat, he has a dragon and doesn't use it while it grows up, which is reasonable, but the moment he can ride it he goes to Daenerys and she obviously sets up a marriage with him pretty much from the start, giving him power over negotiations and generally total control over her cause, despite the fact that he's a Manderly (major noble House, but honestly a pretty ordinary one with nothing remarkable about it), and really all of this could be overlooked if it weren't a huge waste to literally have the power of signs and only use them 3 or 4 times in 300 chapters. I want to make it clear that this criticism is for the work itself, the translator did an excellent job with this and made the narrative more enjoyable, in short, Story: 3.4/10, Translation: 10/10

I could not get past chapter five, I mean, he says the most stupid stuff he did not watch the show or read the books i mean how dumb do you have to be to think a thousand and five hundred knights on horseback can take a city that has more troops not only that he is level 1 swordsmanship and yet can beat jon who is a lot better it does not matter if he is older and stronger jon should have won there is just a lot of small things that do not add up or is just stupid like why is he going to the moad on his way to winterfell from white harbour that makes no sense all these little things add up and makes the story awful to read you just have to turn your brain off to read this

I was just reading the raws because it's a story I enjoy, I even wrote to the translator of "Lord of the Flame", another excellently translated Game of Thrones fanfic exactly yesterday to take a look at this fic, the very next day you uploaded the best translated chapters there could be, it's an incredible coincidence and just for that I'll give you 5 stars, I hope you continue translating this so well.

It's pretty good overall, translationwise it's good as well, unless I'm mistaken and confusing it for another raw with a similar premise. The major problem however is that MC behavior is very inconsistent. Getting inspiration from some comments, "selective amnesia" is the main tool of choice for making the MC seem like he has growth. Impulsiveness, pride or underestimation of others was much better executed and ultimately ruined by the MC's inconsistent memory. It wouldn't be a severe problem if it wasn't something as glaringly obvious as for example *Spoiler*: - MC mentioning that he's interested in finding if his family has a spy network he can use and a few chapters later being shocked, frozen for 10 minutes with very dramatic descriptions of how much he was affected by finding out about his familyhaving a spy network. There were previous examples of this being done for which I tried to shut down my brain for but it just gets way too obvious at one point. The premise is good along with the development, inconsistencies in the two worlds make sense as well but can also be potentially justified from gaps in the original source material, however the MC's internal inconsistency is a sign of poor or no initial planning of what the MC knows and thinks about the world. Which is a major problem 'cause he's the character we spend most time with.

This fanfic shows promise. the protagonist doesn't start out very powerful, but he is quite strong for a human and has a very interesting power progression

How should I put it? It's pretty decent for a Translation, but pretty meh compared to some GoT fics. It has it's moments but the Witcher and Game of Thrones lore doesn't mix well sue to the magical nature. Unless the author changed the world settings completely. Still, it's a decent enough read. 3.5 sums it up well
