In the chat room of the shelters:
"大天 Shelter: "Damn it! This guy's too cocky, I can't take it anymore. I'm going to find the boss right now!"
Wangba Shelter: "The King's still not dead, and now we have a bear showing up? Let's smash his claws and see if he dares to act so cocky again!"
Zhao Ritian Shelter: "What bear? I'll make him kneel today! No one is allowed to act this arrogant in this city!"
The chat exploded with insults and mockery aimed at the small white bear, mostly from the same group of people. The rest of the survivors were either dead or too afraid to speak up.
"Captain Chen, they might be able to see where we are," Qin Dashan said, having deduced from Chen Dafu's previous messages that these people likely had some form of "tracking" ability and were strong enough to afford their cocky attitudes.
"I can find them too," Chen Dafu replied, emotionless, pulling out a small, delicate phone and quickly typing in one of the ID codes. The screen flickered with an eerie light, showing a city map and coordinates.
"South of the city," he said, standing up to leave.
Qin Dashan hurriedly called out, "Captain Chen, let us go with you."
"No need. You stay here and lead the team. I'll handle it alone," Chen Dafu said, his voice firm.
"This isn't just your personal matter, Captain. It's better to bring the army along, just in case," Qin Dashan urged, but Chen Dafu raised an eyebrow.
"Fine. I'll bring the Defenders. They can keep up with my speed."
During their march last night, Qin Dashan had already tested the capabilities of the troops. Despite having vehicles, the modern army's march was slower compared to the Defenders—humans without vehicles—but they moved with incredible agility. The discovery left him stunned.
This new army was proving to be an extraordinary force, and Qin Dashan could hardly wait to witness their full strength firsthand.
In the chat, the insults continued to fly. Chen Dafu ignored them, and many of the local survivors started to wonder if the little white bear had finally backed down. But no one in the large shelters, like Daitian or Wangba, had any intention of stopping their taunts. They swore to kill the bear in front of everyone, hoping to establish their dominance over the city.
Half an hour later, Daitian Shelter triumphantly posted:"Guess what, bear? You're done for! Our boss has agreed to track you down, and you won't survive until sundown!"
"Is that so?"Xiaobai Bear Shelter: "No need to wait that long. I've already found you, and I'm close."
At a gathering place in the southern part of the city, a middle-aged man paused in confusion when he saw the message. But before he could react, a loud siren blared through the area.
"Beep! Beep! Beep!"
The warning siren sent the place into chaos. Survivors rushed out, weapons in hand, shouting:"What's going on?""Is it Xiwang attacking? Damn it, I'm still in my underwear!"
The crowd panicked. Soon, a man on a motorcycle sped back, yelling,"Something's wrong! We need to inform the boss!""A group of people is coming from the street! They're heading straight for us!""Damn it, they look like a proper army—thousands of them!""They're charging straight at us, and our traps can't stop them!"
The frontline scouts had sent their reports, causing a wave of confusion. Who could possibly be bold enough to attack their stronghold?
"Definitely not Xiwang. He doesn't have that many people left.""Are they armed?" someone shouted. The scout responded, "No guns, but they're in full armor, carrying shields. They look like ancient soldiers but are running incredibly fast, it's ridiculous!"
"No guns? That's good," said one of the higher-ups, rallying the troops:"Send someone to warn the boss! Everyone else, come with me—let's see who's brave enough to stir up trouble!"
The survivors gathered, heading toward the front entrance. Behind them, the middle-aged man hesitated. He looked at his comrades, then back at the messages on his screen.
"Could it really be that damn bear coming for us?" he thought, nervous about alerting the others. But when he looked up again, he saw the weapons being brought out of storage: machine guns, rocket launchers, explosives, grenades, and hundreds of automatic rifles. Heavy trucks rolled out, packed with fully armed soldiers.
"Maybe there's no need to alert everyone after all. No one's really gonna panic."The man breathed a sigh of relief, grinning at the thought:"Even if that stupid bear comes, how strong can he be against rockets or flamethrowers?"
Meanwhile, Chen Dafu was charging through streets filled with obstacles and traps. He moved like a blur, leaping with the agility of a bird, landing heavily and smashing traps in his path. His speed was unmatched, and his brutal approach paid no mind to the curious eyes peering from nearby buildings.
Behind him, thousands of Defenders followed, a black wave of soldiers, all armored, yet moving with astonishing speed. They flowed through the streets like ants, dodging traps and obstacles while keeping tight on Chen Dafu's heels.
Chen Dafu kept his eyes on the phone screen, jumping over yet another trap, and finally stopped at a street intersection. Ahead, a makeshift defensive structure blocked the way, surrounded by armed men.
"Who are you? What do you want here?" one of the men shouted, his voice carrying across the distance as though amplified by a megaphone.
"This is our territory!""You look unfamiliar. What's your business here? Are you friend or foe?"
The men behind him, rifles ready, eyed Chen Dafu warily. But he showed no fear. He stood with his hands behind his back, gazing coolly at the defenders ahead.
Before they could continue, they suddenly noticed a strange sight—behind Chen Dafu, the street filled with ancient soldiers.
These soldiers, like beasts, were towering and muscular, holding shields as they poured out from the alleyways and formed an impenetrable wall behind their leader. They seemed like a force of nature—unyielding, unstoppable.
The survivors at the front of the barricade froze. The soldiers' presence was overwhelming, an aura of ancient military might emanating from them. They were dressed in heavy armor, their shields solid and their swords drawn, exuding an eerie stillness that spoke of relentless power.
Chen Dafu stood tall in the ruins, the Defenders silently behind him, as if they were an immovable mountain.
"Move aside," he said coldly, his voice low but commanding.
The survivors hesitated, weapons tight in their hands. They tried to find a weakness in the imposing formation, but they were met only with unwavering, emotionless gazes from the Defenders.
"This man... what is he?" The leader of the survivors muttered, swallowing hard. He stepped forward to demand an answer, but Chen Dafu had already lost patience.
"Not moving, huh?" He raised his hand slowly.
"Heavy Mountain!"
"Battle!"
A low, resonant voice boomed through the ranks of the Defenders. Though quiet, it felt like a spell, reverberating through the air, sending shivers down everyone's spine.
Instantly, the Defenders adjusted their formation, their movements precise, as if guided by some unseen force. It was like watching a perfectly synchronized machine come to life.
Then, the ground shook as the soldiers let out a low, guttural roar.
"Kill! Kill! Kill!"
Without further warning, the Defenders surged forward, closing the gap with terrifying speed.
The survivors froze in terror. "What the hell?"
"Without any negotiation, they're attacking directly!"
The leaders of the defending group panicked, quickly shouting orders:"Open fire! Kill them!"
"Tat-tat-tat! Tat-tat-tat!"
The air was thick with the sound of gunfire, bullets tearing through the air toward the Defenders.
"Clink! Clink!"
The bullets hit the heavy armor, bouncing off with harsh metallic sounds and sparks. The Defenders moved forward unfazed, their heavy armor withstanding the barrage.
Rockets were launched, but the dense formation of soldiers didn't even flinch.
"Boom!"
The explosion shook the air as three rockets detonated among the Defenders.
For a moment, the high-ranking survivors smiled—until their expressions turned to shock.
Their laughter died as they realized the Defenders weren't slowing down at all. Instead, they kept advancing like a relentless tide.
