Now I Ask You, Am I Insane?

"…"

The man looked up at Chen Dafeng. Chen Dafeng met his gaze with indifference, a playful smirk tugging at his lips. "You won't dare?"

"Bring it on!" The man gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. "No rules, no order. Now, I'm in charge."

If he didn't bring Big Tian out now, offending Chen Dafeng would mean certain death. The man wasn't afraid of sniper rifles, but in such close quarters, he knew he'd be killed instantly.

But if he could secure Big Tian's presence, perhaps there was still a chance of survival. After all, he was a major figure in the safe zone, even the leader of the Brave Men Alliance relied on him.

Under the man's firm command, two of his subordinates were quickly brought forward.

They were shoved in front of Chen Dafeng, held at gunpoint, and the man hastily introduced them: "Xiong Ge, this is Wang Ba, and this is Zhao Ritian."

"Ah?"

Chen Dafeng raised an eyebrow, scanning the two young men in front of him. They didn't look old, but their faces were filled with arrogance. They kept pushing away the guns aimed at them and began shouting angrily at the man. "Chen Xun, you trying to rebel or what?!"

"An outsider comes and demands people, and you just give in? Do you think we're nobodies?"

"We're the boss's personal guards, his trusted men! You're asking for death!"

Both were aware of the situation's gravity, but the man ignored their protests, quietly explaining to Chen Dafeng, "They have combat talent and aren't weak, which is why they're highly regarded."

"I think there's been some misunderstanding. I hope to clear this up with what little influence I have. If Xiong Ge feels uncomfortable, I'll find a way to make amends."

"If Xiong Ge can show me some face, I'll smooth things over. We don't need to fight—let's sit down and talk. We're all in this chaotic world, no need for us to fight amongst ourselves, right?"

Chen Xun spoke in a low tone, trying to be diplomatic, but Chen Dafeng wasn't buying it.

"You think a misunderstanding makes it one? Who do you think you are?"

Chen Dafeng shot him a look before walking over to the two young men.

"So, you're Little White Bear?"

The two young men eyed him warily, already informed of the situation on their way here, yet they were still defiant. "You bring people here looking for trouble? You're asking to die!"

"Get with the program and stand still. Our boss is coming!"

"You think you can threaten me?" One of them spat angrily. "Heaven's got a path, and you refuse to walk it. Hell has no door, and you… ugh!"

The young man was interrupted with a slap to the face, his eyes wide with shock.

Another resounding slap followed. This time, it was harder.

The young man's head exploded with a sickening sound. His brain matter splattered, and the crowd froze in shock, some reflexively aiming their guns at Chen Dafeng.

But Chen Dafeng didn't care. He simply flicked his wrist, disgusted by the mess.

"Idiot," he muttered.

The other young man stood frozen, drenched in his comrade's blood and brains, his mind struggling to comprehend what had just happened.

He'd killed before, but this—this was something else. A slap, and someone's head just exploded!

Chen Xun's eyes widened, and his breath quickened. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. This man was a walking nightmare. He didn't care that they were in enemy territory. There was no negotiation.

Chen Dafeng came here to kill these three men—no one would survive.

"You must be Zhao Ritian, right?" Chen Dafeng stepped over the body of his slain comrade, his imposing figure casting a shadow over the younger man. "Weren't you so cocky just an hour ago? Told me to kneel?"

"Kneel!" Chen Dafeng's voice was thunderous, sending the young man into an uncontrollable tremor, his knees giving way as he collapsed to the ground.

"You call yourself Zhao Ritian?" Chen Dafeng sneered, his boot firmly planted on the young man's head. "You really think you're some kind of heaven-sent being? Now, I ask you—am I insane?"

"Insane… Boss, you're the one who's insane, the most insane!" Zhao Ritian trembled in fear, his defiance evaporating. The man in front of him was a true killer, and there was no room for escape.

"Who's kneeling now?" Chen Dafeng's voice was cold.

"I am, I'm kneeling to you, Big Brother! Don't kill me, I submit, I surrender!" Zhao Ritian's voice cracked, desperation evident. In the face of death, his courage shattered.

His attempt to raise his head was futile. The weight of Chen Dafeng's boot felt like an immovable mountain, and he couldn't even twitch.

There was no question about it—this man was an extremely powerful being with a talent far beyond his own.

Chen Dafeng sighed in boredom. He suddenly looked up at Chen Xun. "I'm going to kill him. You got a problem with that?"

"I…"

Chen Xun froze, unable to form a response. How could he stop him? This man didn't fear anything. Not even a sniper rifle could stop him. What could he possibly do?

Before he could think of an answer, a loud voice bellowed nearby.

"Let go of Little Zhao!"

The crowd stirred, excitement flooding the air.

"It's the boss!"

"The boss is finally here! We're saved!"

Chen Dafeng casually looked up at the approaching commotion. A group of fully armed talent users surrounded an elderly man around fifty years old.

The old man was well-dressed in a suit, glasses perched on his nose, his graying hair neatly combed. But his face was cold, his gaze locked onto Chen Dafeng. "Xiao Bai Xiong, release Little Zhao now! Whatever it is, you can talk to me!"

"You're teaching me what to do?" Chen Dafeng looked down at the young man under his foot and suddenly laughed. "You think you're in a position to lecture me?"

"You really don't know when to stop, do you?" A middle-aged man by the elder's side roared, his eyes filled with menace as he glared at Chen Dafeng. "My brother said to let Little Zhao go! Don't be so cocky in the Brave Men Alliance. No one in this city dares to challenge us like this!"

"Big Tian?"

Chen Dafeng tilted his head, a smile tugging at his lips. "I thought you ran off."

"Run? I need to run?" Big Tian sneered, his brother's confidence emboldening him. "You really think someone ranked second on the leaderboard can be challenged so easily?"

"You'll regret this—prepare to die!"

Big Tian ranted, but his brother remained calm, eyeing Chen Dafeng. "Xiao Bai Xiong, I've never seen you before, nor have I found you on the leaderboard."

"Looks like you just earned your spot this month, so your ranking is pretty low, huh?"

"From the look of it, you've got a decent new talent and gathered a strong crew. But this city is deep, and there are many experts. Strength alone doesn't make you king."

The old man continued, his tone faintly admiring. "If you release Little Zhao, we'll forget the rest. Let's sit down and talk. I admire someone like you, a hero in troubled times. I'm always looking for talent."

Before the words even left his mouth, Chen Dafeng put more weight on his foot.

Bang!

Zhao Ritian's head exploded under his heel. His decapitated body twitched in the pool of blood, a grotesque scene as the crowd gasped.

Chen Xun took a few steps back, retreating into the shadows of the crowd. Things had escalated beyond control.

"You—!" The old man's eyes widened in disbelief, fury boiling inside him. Bloodshot veins bulged in his eyes as he pointed a trembling finger at Chen Dafeng. "You dare defy me!"

"Idiot."

Chen Dafeng spat, his voice dripping with contempt.

He couldn't understand how anyone could think they could command him. He'd been a leader before—if they'd said something different, he might have let it slide. But to come here acting like they could control him?

Not a chance.

"Alright, alright!" The old man's expression twisted with rage, his clothes tearing as his body began to swell. Muscles bulged beneath the tattered fabric, gleaming in the sunlight.

"Big Brother! Kill him!" Big Tian yelled, excited by the unfolding drama. "Xiao Bai Xiong, you're finished! My brother's an S-tier talent user! You've hit a wall!"

Bang!

Before Big Tian could finish his sentence, everything changed. There was a blur, followed by a dull, heavy sound.

Suddenly, the old man was sent flying backward as if hit by a cannonball, smashing into the nearby building with a deafening crash.

"Boom!"

Debris flew, the building collapsed, and the staircase tilted.

Big Tian turned in horror as the dust cleared. What they saw left them in stunned silence.

Chen Dafeng stood amidst the rubble, his boot pressing down on the old man's body, two steel rebar rods piercing through his chest. Blood poured from his mouth as he weakly clutched the metal, his eyes glazing over in confusion and disbelief.

Chen Dafeng casually glanced back at Big Tian. "What were you saying about hitting a wall?"
