The morning light filtered into their workspace as Masako sat at her desk, her golden eyes focused on the tablet in front of her. She was sketching a new character design for Spirit Walker, her pen gliding across the screen with practiced precision. The character was starting to come to life, a mix of elegant and mysterious, when a sudden notification pinged on her phone.
Curious, she set down her stylus and picked up her phone. It was a message from her old friend, Yumi. Opening the DM, Masako immediately froze.
Yumi: "Masako, have you seen the internet this morning? Your 'wholesome' video with Kazuma has gone mega-viral. 30 million views and climbing!"
Masako's golden eyes widened in horror as her heart started to race. "Thirty… million?!" she muttered to herself, heat rising to her face. Her cheeks flushed crimson as she kept reading.
Yumi: "For comparison, your second most viewed stream is only at 2 million. You and Kazuma broke the internet, lol!"
Masako's fingers trembled as she typed back. "What video??"
Yumi wasted no time responding. "The one where you two were, uh, 'passionately expressing your love' during the stream. Everyone's calling it the cutest thing ever. I mean, you forgot to turn it off—how could it NOT go viral?"
Masako let out a strangled groan and buried her face in her hands. "Oh no…" She had completely forgotten about their little… incident the night before. To make matters worse, Yumi followed up by sending her screenshots of what people were saying.
She reluctantly scrolled through the messages:
"This is better than any drama series! Keep going!"
"Bruh, I'm just here for Morin Rock updates, not this mushy stuff."
"This is why they're the best devs ever—so much love in everything they do!"
"HELLO? THE STREAM IS STILL ON. END IT!!!"
"I'm cringing so hard right now, but I can't look away."
"If this isn't turned into a bonus level in one of their games, I'm going to riot."
"Low-key jealous. My partner doesn't even look at me like that."
"Who needs a Mori sequel when this love story is the real content we're here for?"
Masako's face burned as she read through the comments. Her heart felt like it was racing a mile a minute, equal parts mortified and overwhelmed. She dropped her phone onto her desk and buried her face into her hands again. "This can't be happening," she groaned.
Hearing her distressed tone, Kazuma walked into the room, holding a cup of coffee. His light blue eyes sparkled with curiosity as he tilted his head. "What's wrong, sweetie? You look like you've seen a ghost."
Masako peeked at him through her fingers, her face still red. "Dear… do you remember last night's… 'incident' during the stream?"
Kazuma frowned slightly before realization dawned on him. "Oh. That."
She sighed and pointed to her phone. "It went viral. Thirty million views. Everyone saw it."
Kazuma's eyes widened in shock, then he placed the coffee down on her desk and picked up her phone to see the messages. As he scrolled, his face turned a faint shade of pink. "Well, uh… they don't seem to hate it," he said with an awkward chuckle.
"That's not the point, dear!" Masako exclaimed, covering her face again. "Everyone saw us making out like teenagers!"
Kazuma gently took her hands and pulled them away from her face, his light blue eyes filled with affection. "Masako, it's not like we did anything wrong. People love us for being real and authentic. Besides…" He smirked playfully. "They're not wrong. We are a pretty cute couple."
Her golden eyes narrowed, though a small smile tugged at her lips. Despite her embarrassment, Masako couldn't help but laugh softly. "You always know how to make me feel better, don't you?"
"It's my job as your husband," he replied, grinning. "Now, let's turn this into a positive. If the internet loves us this much, maybe we should make a fun post to acknowledge it. Something like, 'We're glad you enjoyed the stream as much as we enjoyed each other.'" He waggled his eyebrows, earning a light smack on the arm from Masako.
"Absolutely not," she said, though she couldn't stop the giggle that escaped her. "You're lucky I love you."
"And I love you too," he replied, pulling her into a warm hug.
As mortified as Masako felt, she couldn't deny that the world knowing how much they loved each other wasn't the worst thing. Together, they'd weather anything—even accidental viral fame.
