Trouble Brewing (Part 2)

Lucas sighed. "What do you want?"

Leo huffed. "The math teacher's calling for us. Said it was urgent."

Lucas frowned. "Why?"

Leo shrugged. "Hell if I know. But he's got that 'I'm-about-to-lecture-you-for-an-hour' face, so you better hurry."

Lucas rolled his eyes before fully unzipping the tent and stepping out. The morning sun was already peeking through the trees, casting a warm glow over the camp.

Some students were stirring, but most were still inside their tents, reluctant to start the day.

He turned back slightly, lowering his voice. "I'll be back."

Mia gave him a small nod, still tucked into the corner.

Satisfied, Lucas walked away with Leo, leaving the tent behind.

Mia waited.

She counted the seconds, listening closely for any sounds outside.

Only when she was sure the coast was clear did she let out a deep breath and slowly sit up.
