Chapter Five : About Indah

A woman was seen sitting on one of the benches in a Japanese restaurant. Every now and then she turned the menu in her hand while choosing what food she wanted to order.

"Selly!"

Feeling called, the woman turned her head. She turned her body and saw the figure who had called her. She waved one hand at the person to come closer to her.

"How long?"

"No, just arrived. Sit down."

The woman took a deep breath. The hot weather in Jakarta made her have to burn some calories in her body to be able to get to this place. Although people said she was already the daughter-in-law of a conglomerate, she would not use her habit of preferring to travel by Busway or other public transportation rather than by her husband's family car.

"I apologize, I will not attend your wedding." She regretted it. Selly was indeed unable to attend yesterday because the condition of the patient she was treating suddenly dropped. As a result, she had to stay overnight to look after him.

"You don't need to think about it."

"How?"

Indah frowned at Selly's ambiguous question. "What?"

"Your wedding. You must be very happy, as far as I know Rama is a millionaire." She said bluntly.

Indah smiled wryly. He was indeed a millionaire, but from what Selly said, she should be proud to have a millionaire husband. In reality, she was not happy at all. Her marriage to Rama had to fail and now she was trapped in a marriage with Adrian, who should have been her brother-in-law.

"I don't know. I don't feel like it." Indah sighed. It seemed like her life was getting more complicated when she thought about what the fate of her household would be like in the future.

"Why, Ndah?"

"Rama left me when we should have been at the altar together."

Selly, who could not hide her surprise, suddenly lost her breathing. She covered her mouth so that no soft squeals would escape her lips.

"H-How is that possible?" She asked. "Don't you two... Love each other." She squeaked softly. She didn't want to intimidate Indah too much with her questions that could hurt her best friend's feelings.

"I don't understand. I don't know. All I know is that at that time his younger brother came to replace him as the groom." Indah explained regretfully while lowering her head.

"Younger brother?"

Indah raised her head and stared at the pair of eyes straight. "Adrian Aditama."

"WHAT???" Selly immediately covered her mouth again. She felt that this time she could no longer hide her surprise. She stared in amazement at her friend.

Indah gave a deadly stare because of Selly's loud scream. Several visitors to the restaurant began to look at them.

"You!" she scolded.

"You are really lucky, Indah.." She whispered without replying to Indah. She still couldn't believe that her friend's fate was so lucky. Being able to marry the man of her dreams was an amazing thing. In fact, she had always heard from her colleagues from various divisions that Adrian was an ideal figure who was full of charisma and also very handsome.

"What?" She asked annoyed. "He's an annoying man, Sel. Just so you know, on our first day of marriage he tried to rape me. Seriously." She snorted roughly.

Selly shook her head hearing Indah's rambling. "Of course he had to. Besides, there's no such thing as domestic rape, Ndah. You have to get used to it. It's only natural that Adrian asked you for it"

"Yes.. I know that. It's just that I feel guilty for making him the one who suffered because of my marriage. He should still be free out there with the woman he loves."

"Do you know he has a girlfriend or a woman he loves out there? Maybe he's never had one, Ndah." Indah just shrugged her shoulders indifferently.

Selly smiled softly. This was what she disliked the most about her best friend. Indah was too pessimistic about anything. Sometimes Selly was annoyed because Indah's attitude was not commensurate with what she had.

"You have to be sure that you two are husband and wife. I'm sure Adrian must have thought about it carefully. Besides, you haven't tried it yourself, why should you hesitate?"

Indah was momentarily stunned. She confirmed Selly's statement. She also actually suspected that Adrian had thought about this before deciding to replace Rama at that time. But for some reason, her heart still doubted it.

"I don't know him at all. I'm not sure everything can go well. Moreover, I don't know anything about my own husband," she complained. She realized that she didn't know at all who the figure who had officially become her husband was. She had only met Adrian once when Rama brought her to a dinner at the Aditama family's house.

"You haven't tried it. Besides, you don't know anything about him. Who knows, Adrian might be your soulmate."

"You're right." Indah was silent for a moment, but there was one thing she caught odd here. With full investigation, she looked sharply at Selly. "How can you talk so fluently about Adrian? Do you know him?"

Selly giggled. Indah's sharp gaze at this time was like a jealous wife who knew her husband's closeness to another woman.

"Adrian is a doctor at the hospital where I work." She explained.

"Doctor?"

"Gosh... Indah~, I understand that you don't know your husband's past. But you're too much to not know what your husband's profession is." she growled.

"What is it?"

"Obstetrician." she replied.

"WHAT?" Indah's big eyeballs almost jumped out.

"You don't know?" Selly asked inquisitively.

"Haish!.. how would I know. I just met him at dinner that night and at the Altar." She admitted. In her mind she thought about how lucky Adrian was to be able to see the sensitive parts of his female patient. And gosh... the man must have seen it many times. The thought of how passionate the man was made Indah shiver. Adrian must have held back his passion that night.

"Indah, you know... there's a very thin line between hate and love." she said, which was immediately rewarded with a sharp glare from Indah.
