You lay in your bed staring up at the ceiling. Another night of work but you don't want to go in. You don't want to deal with the customers and the environment. You slowly sit up, rubbing your eyes. Sighing really loudly, you stand up and make your way to the bathroom.
You walk down the stairs of your apartment and towards the bus stop. You adjust your name tag as you stand under the bus stop. A guy walks to the bus stop and stands beside you. You slowly look towards him. He has brown hair that goes down to his shoulders. He's pretty. Is all that went through your mind. The guy slowly looks at you which makes you quickly look away. You furrow your eyebrows and frown a bit. The guy looks away and puts his headphones in. You can hear the music playing as he puts them in his ears.
The sound of the bus approaching snaps you out of it. The bus stops in front of the two of you, and you both get on the bus. You sit in the back of the bus next to the window. The guy sits in the front of the bus and pulls out his phone. You softly sigh and look out the window as you watch the bus drive off.
The trees and ground is covered in snow. The window fogs up as you blow your hot breath on it. One thing that you like about working later shifts is the quietness of the bus and the streets. It's very relaxing. Once the bus stops you get off, making your way into the store and preparing to make your way into the breakroom.
Once you make it into the breakroom you see one of your coworkers making a cup of coffee. She quickly looks at you as the sound of the check in/out machine makes noise.
"Hey! Y/N!" The girl says as she approaches you. You quietly sigh and look in her direction after finishing clocking in.
"Hey..." Now that you think of it... you don't really remember her name. You don't remember many peoples names... You don't pay much attention to your coworkers. You just want to do your job and go home.
"So- what hours do you work today?" The girl says smiling at you.
"I work until closing... why?" You sigh.
"I was just wondering... Dang- you always work so late- haha... You look so young, don't you have school?"
"No." You quickly answer as you turn away and leave the office. The girl quickly walks up behind you and smiles.
"Really? I thought you were in high school or something." The girl says in a shocked tone.
"Oh- that's funny... I didn't think I looked that young." You say in an uninterested tone.
"How old are you- if you don't mind me asking?" The girl says walking beside you.
"Old enough to drink." You answer.
"Wow... crazy- So you're older than me." The girl laughs.
"Yeah..."
The girl stops walking, watching you walk to the front desk and begin to sort through the paper on the desk. You find your name.
"Y/n L/n... restocking-" You sigh and close the binder and grab keys in a basket under the desk. You make your way to a bunch of shopping carts full of unwanted things people left behind. You push the shopping cart down the aisle and begin to put things back where you found it.
You stare at yourself through the screen above you. Sometimes you question why stores have those to begin with. You push the shopping cart some more before stopping and checking the time.
"Break time..." You quietly say to yourself.
You sit in the breakroom slowly eating a granola bar. You slowly peel the wrapper down more to take another bite. Your eyes feel heavy, and you feel somewhat dead inside. Your phone vibrates causing you to flinch. You slowly pull your phone out to check the notification that set your phone off.
"Genshin..." You slowly say. You press on the notification, and it sends you to the app. There's a new banner. "That's right... Wanderer comes out today-" You lean forward a bit in your chair and wait for the app to finish updating. You take another bite of your granola bar. After the app finishes updating you quickly go to the banner screen. There he is- Wanderer. You smile and look towards your wishes. Sixty three wishes. You sigh and check your history-
"Twenty six pity... I have a possible chance... right?" You softly say. You press on the ten pull. "Purple you sigh."
After five ten pulls you were on your last ten pull. You take a deep breath and pull again. "GOLD!" You shout. You freeze and look around the breakroom. Thank god you were alone. You look back at your screen and begin to go through all the weapons. You freeze when you see the outline of a character. "Bennett... jeez- don't scare me like that." You sigh. You take another bite of your granola bar. You freeze when you see another character outline. Your heart drops when you see Qiqi. You sink down in your chair and feel a pain in your throat.
You go back to stocking. Pushing through the rest of the night.
After work you make your way back to the bus stop. You can't believe you lost your fifty fifty- not only that but you got yet ANOTHER Qiqi. The bus stops in front of you. You get on the bus and sit in the back, leaning back and taking a deep breath. You look out the window watching the houses go by as the bus moves.
When you make it home, you sluggishly make your way up the stairs. You push open your apartment door and taking off your shoes. You close the door and slowly make your way to your room. You begin to undress yourself and then plop down on your bed. You sigh loudly and roll over on your bed, grabbing your pillow and squeezing it close to you.
You sleep through the morning, feeling at peace and relaxed. You jerk awake when you feel your phone vibrating under you. You quickly sit up and check your phone. It's your job calling you. You sigh and pick up your phone.
"Hello?" You calmly say.
"Hey- Y/n... We need another person today- I know you worked last night but we would really appreciate it if you came in today and did the morning shift- is that okay?" Your boss says to you over the phone.
"Yeah..." You softly say.
"Thank you- see you in a bit."
The phone hangs up and you groan loudly.
After getting back in your work uniform you slowly make your way to the bus stop. The ride to work was quite noisy since there were a handful of people on the bus. Once the bus arrives to your job you quickly make your way inside. You clock in and go to your manager who informs you on what he wants you to do.
Cashiering... great- not only are you tired but you also have to deal with shitty annoying people. You sigh as you bag the customers stuff.
"Hey- do you think you can double bag my stuff?" The old lady says. You nod and begin to double bag her stuff.
ARF ARF ARF
"Sit down Betsy!" A woman yells. Your eyes move towards a dog who is losing its mind.
"Ma'am... can you calm your dog down." You calmly say.
"DON'T YOU THINK I'M DOING THAT!" The woman yells at you. You relax your eyes and turn away, going back to double bagging the old lady's stuff. The all the sudden you hear a loud bang causing you to flinch. The dog jumps up onto the conveyer belt and leaps at you causing you to flinch in fear.
BZZZZ BZZZZ BZZZZ
You jerk up from your sleep. You quickly look around your room feeling very shaken and dehydrated.
You were... in your bed- but how?
Maybe... it was a bad dream... You sigh in your head. You grab your phone that's buzzing. It's your alarm for work. You stretch and get up, making your way out your room. You stand in the bathroom brushing your teeth and tapping the Genshin app on your phone. The app looks weird... Paimon isn't on the front cover of the app anymore. It's like she's missing from it. You press on the app feeling extremely confused. The app opens normally. Everything looks exactly the same. You tap on the wish icon. When the banners load you see Wanderer on his banner. You sigh thinking about the fact you lost to Qiqi. Your eyes slowly move towards your primogems.
"Huh?"
Your heart sinks when you see a strange limit in your primogems... a limit you never expected to see. You press on the shop to see if you had purchased any primogems... but you didn't. You shuffle through all the shop tabs and stopping when you see a tab that says 'Buy a character'.
"Buy a character? When did they add this?" You question. You press on the tab to see all the Genshin characters. Each five star character costed seven thousand two hundred primogems. It's on a fifty percent sale. You scroll down to see the cost of four star characters. The four star characters cost eight hundred primogems... same thing... fifty percent sale. You tilt your head a bit. You stop at Wanderer staring at him. Your eyes drift towards the amount of primogems you have.
"I have exactly seven thousand two hundred primogems... I can either get Wanderer... or multiple four stars." You sigh at the idea and look off into the distance. You look back at your phone and checked the time. Your eyes widen when you realize the time. You put your phone down and quickly get dressed.
You quickly make your way to the bus stop. The bus was waiting outside the bus stop. You run as fast as you can and quickly make your way on the bus. You plop down on the seat in the back, panting a bit. You look out the window thinking about the game. You quickly pull your phone out and went to the shop tab you saw earlier. Your finger hovers over Wanderer. Your heart pounds as you stare at him. The bus stops causing you to look up. The guy from yesterday gets on, panting really heavily. You stare at him causing him to look back at you. You quickly look away and down at your phone.
The guy's face was pink and he looked tired... he must have missed the bus and had to run to the next bus stop. You think to yourself. You look back at your phone and taking a deep breath. You press on Wanderer and buying him. After buying him his splash art shows. A big smile grows across your face. You exit out of shop and towards the character icon. When you press it, you scroll through your characters to find Wanderer... but- he's not there.
Your heart sinks and you furrow your eyebrows. Why isn't he here? You questioned. When you realized you aren't getting your primos back and you had just got basically scammed you turn off your phone and sink down in the chair. You stare out the window trying not to cry. It was like the game played a cruel trick on you and you didn't like it.
At work you were on restocking duty again. You walk down the aisle and putting the stuff away, little by little.
On your break you decide you want something from the vending machine. You approach the machine, putting a dollar in and buying a small bag of chips. You press which chips you want and wait for the chips to fall. The chips fall but gets stuck. You stand at the machine staring at it.
"Really-" You sigh. You try to get the bag of chips to budge but it doesn't fall. After giving up and basically losing your dollar you sulkily walk towards a chair and sit down. You lean forward and rest your head in your arms. You close your eyes and relax yourself. The sound of someone walking into the room causes you to look up. It's a woman. She puts a dollar into the machine and presses on a button. You can hear the machine move as the chips drop.
"OHOOOO... TWO BAGS OF CHIPS! WHAT! A WIN WIN!" The girl says as she grabs the chips and skips out the breakroom. You groan after hearing that.
After work you make your way to the bus stop. You get on the bus and sit in your usual seat. You stare out the window feeling really down. Life seems so- dull... and yet you're getting sad over a dumb game and a stupid bag of chips. You quickly pull out your phone and delete Genshin out of spite and stare back out the window frowning really hard.
When the bus stops at the stop you need to get off at, you slowly make your way off the bus. You walk up the stairs and into your apartment. You take off your shoes and slowly make it into the living room as you unbutton your shirt. You pause when you see a shadow move in the corner of your eyes. You slowly look towards the movement to see a person standing in your dark kitchen.
"He-llo...?" You quaver. Your eyes widen when you see indigo blue eyes glowing as they bore into yours.
"Tch... so- you're the one who summoned me here I assume." The person says.
"Huh?"
"You messed with the wrong one... mortal-" He holds his hand out causing you to back away. "You'll regret summoning me here." He rasps.
