Chapter 6

KNOCK KNOCK 

The father sits up from the couch and walks towards the door. The mother quickly dashes from her room and towards the door before the father was able to reach the door. The mother opens the door to see a man standing outside.

"Are you Mr. Jeremiah?" She asks. 

"Yes... I am." He calmly says. She smiles and opens the door more to let him in. Mr. Jeremiah walks in. The mother leads him to Kiyomi's bedroom where she's sleeping. The father looks at the two of them confused as he follows them.

"Who is he?" He asks.

"The exorcist I hired." The mother replies.

"What? You were being serious?" The father questions.

"Yes... Of course..." The mother sighs. The father clenches his fists and sighs. They walk into Kiyomi's bedroom where Kiyomi is peacefully sleeping.

"Is this the little girl?" Mr. Jeremiah asks.

"Yes." The mother nods as she watched the exorcist place a suitcase down by Kiyomi's bed. Kiyomi slowly opens her eyes to the sudden movement and talking in her room. 

"M-Mommy?" She softly says. She slowly rubs her eyes. The mother doesn't respond to Kiyomi and just stares at her from a distance.

"Hi little girl..." The exorcist says. Kiyomi opens her eyes wider out of confusion.

"Hi?" She sits up to get a better look at the man.

"I'm Mr. Jeremiah... It's nice to meet you." He sooths. Kiyomi just stares at him. The man pulls certain tools out of the box. The tools creep Kiyomi out.

"Is this really necessary?" The father asks. The exorcist doesn't respond. The father looks at the mother. "I didn't think you were being serious..." He sighs.

"What's your name?" The exorcist asks Kiyomi.

"..." She just stares at him. He stares back at her and smiles. 

"Come on... I don't bite... I just want to get to know you." He sooths.

"What is that?" Kiyomi asks pointing to a scalpel.

"Oh... It's nothing you need to worry about." He softly says. Kiyomi doesn't feel comfortable about any of this. She backs up on her bed to whereas she's against the headboard. The exorcist pulls out a few candles and a cross. Kiyomi's eyes widen when she sees the cross. 

"What is all of that?" The father asks.

"It's for the ritual..." The exorcist replies.

"What ritual?" The father fumes.

"Stop Greg..." The mother motions. The father scrunches his face up and glares at the mother.

"So... little girl... I heard you have a friend. Is that true?" The exorcist asks Kiyomi.

"Yeah..." She replies.

"Is he here with us right now?" 

"No...?" Kiyomi says in a confused tone. "Mommy... what's happening?" She asks as she desperately looks at her mother for help.

"What things has your friend told you?" The exorcist asks Kiyomi. Kiyomi stares at the exorcist and then she thinks about the things her and her friend talked about.

"Do demon kill?" Kiyomi asks. The exorcist pauses and looks at Kiyomi. When he noticed she was genuinely asking he opens a small compartment in his suitcase.

"Yes demons kill..." He replies.

"Why?"

"Because they are bad." The exorcist listlessly answers. Kiyomi furrows her eyebrows thinking of about her friend.

"Mr. Jeremiah... are you scared of demons?" Kiyomi asks. Mr. Jeremiah stares at him and shakes his head. "What scares you?" Her eyes go white and his eyes relax.

"SHES DOING IT!" The mother screams. The father's eyes widen when he sees his daughters white and empty eyes.

"That man... Chrollo Lucilfer scares me..." He answers. Tears fill his eyes and he starts to shake. Kiyomi's eyes go back to normal.

"Chrollo Lu... Chro... huh?" She tries to repeat. Kiyomi looks at him in confusion.

"What the hell..." Mr. Jeremiah snaps out of it and he looks at Kiyomi in fear. He quickly pulls out a rope from his suitcase.

"What's that?" The father asks in a panicked tone. The exorcist walks closer to Kiyomi. Kiyomi stands up and backs up to the corner of her bed. 

"She needs to be tied down for the ritual to work..." Mr. Jeremiah huffs. Kiyomi stares at her father with wide eyes. Desperation in her face. The father scrunches his face and pushes the exorcist to the side.

"I DON'T WANT THIS! WE ARE NOT EXORCIZING MY CHILD!" The father yells out.

"Why! She has a demon inside her! We need to remove it!" The mother yells.

"If you don't exorcize the demon now... It will only fester and get worse... Who knows... she might end up killing you one day!" Mr. Jeremiah shouts in a panicked tone. "SO PLEASE MOVE AND LET ME DO MY JOB!" He yells motioning the father to move. 

"No! She won't kill me!" The father shouts. "I know my child won't kill me...!" 

"... What do we do about the father? He's getting in the way." Shalnark sighs. 

"Kill him..." Feitan replies.

"No just make the exorcist push him out the way... We don't want to scare the child..." Nobunaga sighs.

"She needs to be scared." Feitan adds. Nobunaga furrow his eyebrows and glares at Feitan whos staring at him.

"The boss said she needs to kill the father..." Nobunaga implies. 

"She's not going to kill him." Phinks sighs.

"Exactly... Kill the father." Feitan tells Shalnark.

"No... we can't..." Nobunaga says to Shalnark.

"Can we not argue about this... We are wasting time..." Shalnark sighs as he presses buttons on the remote in his hand.

Mr. Jeremiah aggressively pushes the father to the side causing the father to fall on the ground. The father fumes and stands up and swings at the exorcist causing the exorcist to fall on the bed. Kiyomi's eyes widen and she starts to shake watching the two of them fight.

"Shit... " Shalnark furrows his eyebrows and continues to press buttons on his remote.

"Kill the father..." Feitan listlessly says. Nobunaga sighs loudly and stands up to stretch.

"I agree with Nobunaga... I don't think I should kill the father in front of the girl." Shalnark implies. Feitan relaxes his eyes and Nobunaga smirks a little.

"STOP!" Kiyomi screams. The father and Mr. Jeremiah continue to fight. Kiyomi's eyes become glossy as she gets scared as they fight. "Stop... Stop... STOP!" She screams causing them to stop. Kiyomi's eyes are white, and the mother's eyes widen when she sees them. She quickly grabs the rope and grabs Kiyomi. She ties Kiyomi down and the exorcist pushes the father off him.

"Exorcise her... now!" The mother yells out at Mr. Jeremiah. He stands up and grabs the candles. The father gets back up trying to stop the exorcist. The mother grabs one of Kiyomi's hard toys and hits the father in the head with it causing the father to collapse.

"AHHH!" Kiyomi shrieks in fear. "DADDY!" She watches her father get dragged out of the room. The exorcist sighs and places candles all around the room. Then he pulls out an incense and lights it. He waves it all around the room. Kiyomi scrunches her face and flairs her nose. The incense fills the entire room with a strong smell which makes it hard for Kiyomi to breathe. The mother comes back in the room and closes the door behind her, locking it.

"Mommy..." Kiyomi whines. The mother stares blankly at Kiyomi before looking at the exorcist. 

"Is there a way you can cover up her mouth?" The mother asks Mr. Jeremiah. He looks back at the mother and then nods. He pulls out a cloth and ties it around Kiyomi's mouth. Kiyomi muffles as she cries through the cloth. Jeremiah takes the cross and incense and waves it around the room. Kiyomi starts to cough as she can't breathe with the incense stinking up the room.

"BE GONE DEMON! DEMON BE GONE!" He shouts as he waves it around the room. Kiyomi squints her eyes and coughs constantly. She slowly looks at her mother with watery eyes but her mother only glares at her.

Mommy... please... help me...

Mommy... I'm scared...

Please...

Kiyomi's eyes start to glow a purple color. The mother's eyes widen when she sees her daughter's eyes go from their natural grey color to purple. The exorcist notices and rushes towards his suitcase pulling out a bottle of liquid.

"It's working..." Mr. Jeremiah says. He opens the jar of dark red blood colored liquid and dips his fingers in it. He takes his fingers and writes on Kiyomi's forehead. The liquid drips down her forehead causing her to squeeze her eyes close. The liquid starts to burn her skin causing her to muffle screams through the cloth. The mother backs away a bit and the exorcist picks the cross up and points it towards Kiyomi. 

"WE DRIVE YOU FROM US! WHOEVER YOU MAY BE... PERISH AT THE PRESCENSE OF GOD!" Mr. Jeremiah yells. The liquid burns more on Kiyomi's forehead causing her to scream and turn onto her stomach. She drags her face across the sheets to get rid of the painful liquid on her head. The cloth around her mouth falls loose and drops down around her neck. Kiyomi backs quickly away and her back hits the wall. She breathes heavily as the burning sensation is still hurting her.

"Is it over...?" The mother asks in a panicked tone.

"It's just starting..." Mr. Jeremiah says.

"Oh would you look at that... It's snowing..." Shalnark says putting his hand up.

"Snow looks nice with bloodshed..." Feitan listlessly says.

"I agree." Shalnark bubbles.

"EVIL SPIRIT! DIE! DIE!" Mr. Jeremiah yells. The room lights start to flicker and Kiyomi's eyes glow a darker purple. The aura around her grows and becomes a dark purple. Feitan, Shalnark, Nobunaga, and Phinks's eyes widen when they feel Kiyomi's aura. 

Chrollo feels Kiyomi's presence too. He smiles to the feeling.

"DIE! DIE!" The exorcist constantly repeats. The mother holds onto herself as the room around her begins to make her feel dread and fear. The father groans outside the door as he feels the strange aura. It makes him shiver as he becomes conscious. Kiyomi starts to shake in fear. The word die repeating in her head. The constant screaming, flickering of the lights, and the painful burning on her forehead begins to stress her out to the point of desperation. "DIE! DIE!" He yells as he shakes the cross in front of Kiyomi.

Demons... Kill... Bad Dogs... Die... Kill... Bad Dogs... Kill... Bad Dogs... Die... The words repeat in Kiyomi's head. Kiyomi scrunches up her face and closes her eyes. The word die keeps repeating in her head as the man yells it. Die....

"AHHHHHHHH!" She shrieks with her eyes shut. The exorcist yells louder causing Kiyomi's eyes to open. The pupils in her eyes grow huge and the aura around her gets bigger. "DIE" She shouts. The man goes quiet and then his eyes roll back. His body then implodes and splatters everywhere. The blood hits the mother and Kiyomi. 

Kiyomi flinches as it hits her face. She sits still with her eyes widen. The mother starts screaming... curdling screams. 

"M-Mo-" Blood spews from Kiyomi's mouth. Kiyomi falls over onto her face. Tears fill her eyes as she desperately tries to scoot towards her mother. The mother quickly grabs the scalpel and points it towards Kiyomi. Kiyomi's eyes still glow purple. The mother shakes as she points the sharp tool at her daughter. The father stands up and starts pounding on the door. 

"KIYOMI!" He shouts from the outside. "KIYOMI!!!" 

"D-D" Kiyomi tries to speak. The mother shakes her head and still points the scalpel at Kiyomi.

"You aren't my daughter... You are a demon..." The mother cries in fear. The father starts pounding on the door. Kiyomi's eyes relax as she starts to fall unconscious. 

"Mo...mmy" Kiyomi quietly gurgles. The mothers eyes widen and she screams as she charges at Kiyomi. In that split second Kiyomi remembers what her friend told her. Say disappear if something starts to scare you... Blood starts to drip from her eyes and her eyes start to get blood shot. She slowly opens her mouth and stares into her mother's eyes. "D-isa-ppear..." Kiyomi gurgles. A gush of wind causes Kiyomi's eyes to close shut and the sound of the scalpel chimes as it falls to the ground. The father bangs into the door again trying to break through it. The strong shake causes a candle to fall to the ground hitting Kiyomi's blanket that's hanging off her bed. The blanket begins to burn and the room begins to fill with smoke. Kiyomi tries to shake out of the rope that's tied around her but she's too tired to do so. A sudden breeze hits the back of Kiyomi causing her to turn and look behind her. Her bedroom window is open. 

She uses her head to push herself onto her feet. She tries to stand up straight but falls down. She does it again and stands up straight. She walks over towards the window and falls out. Falling to the ground. She cries and groans as she tries to get up. The sound of footsteps come closer to her. She gives up trying to get up and lays flat on the ground and slowly closes her eyes as she goes unconscious.

"KIYOMI!" The father screams trying to break the door open. He pants and notices the smoke coming from under the door. His eyes widen and he rushes out the house, running to where his daughters window is. When he turns to the corner, he sees Kiyomi on the ground. He starts to rush over to her but then stops when he sees a man walking towards Kiyomi. "... KI-" The father's mouth gets covered by a cloth and then he gets pushed down to the ground. Feitan walks out from the trees. The father stares at him with wide eyes. He looks behind Feitan to see the man pick up Kiyomi from off the ground. Feitan pulls his hand out of his pocket. His hand points out and sharpens. Tears fill the father's eyes and then relaxes. Feitan quickly moves and stops behind him; The fathers head falls off and his body falls to the side. 

Chrollo carries Kiyomi away as the house burns down behind him.
