Once upon a time, the underworld and the upper world were one – both were under the protection of the gods in the heavens. However, everything changed when the "Sword of Salvation", the core bond between the heavens and the earth, was stolen.

Over a millennium later, the name "Sword of Salvation" resurfaced. Every century, one chosen individual carried the sword on their back or waist. They traveled from one land to another to find the missing pieces of the sword and complete it. However, for thousands of years, no one succeeded in restoring the "Sword of Salvation" to its original state – all of them failed to restore the world.

It was the fourth day Mariel had been in Vallhamoza.

In the previous three days, he and Oz had done many things. They had freed the prostitutes who wished to be free, implemented new rules and protocols that treated them more humanely, met with Prince Vincent, and even taken control of one-third of the criminals and underground businesses operating in Vallhamoza.

Of course, that was still far from enough to be used as a weapon to control the empire. Before the criminals could become useful, they first had to understand the new rules and protocols. Mariel wanted every criminal working under Oz to become an elite criminal. Only then would they be truly valuable.
