Chapter : Their Wrath

The scent of blood clung to the air.

Heavy. Coppery.

A brutal reminder of what had just happened.

Roo barely breathed.

His body was pressed against Alec's chest, cradled securely in the Alpha's arms, but the shaking wouldn't stop. His fingers clenched into Alec's shirt, his small frame trembling from shock, from fear, from the overwhelming heat of the moment.

He had almost—

No.

He swallowed hard, his throat tight.

The triplets hadn't spoken much since it happened.

They didn't have to.

The tension around them was palpable.

Alec's grip was ironclad as he carried Roo toward their private wing of the estate, his golden eyes dark and unreadable.

Ace followed beside them, his jaw clenched, his muscles taut with restrained violence.

Alexander trailed just a step behind, his scent a storm of fury, his presence suffocating in its intensity. His hands were still stained with blood, the crimson stark against his pale skin.

None of them had shifted.

Not yet.

But their wolves were on edge, barely restrained beneath the surface, radiating an almost unbearable heat.

The intruder had been dealt with.

But this wasn't over.

Not even close.

Inside the Triplets' Room...

The doors shut behind them with a deep, resounding thud.

Alec lowered Roo gently onto the massive bed, his hands lingering for a fraction of a second longer than necessary, as if afraid Roo would vanish the moment he let go.

Roo's breathing was shallow.

His mind was still reeling, replaying every second of what had happened.

The knife.

The grip.

The whispered threat in his ear.

His fingers curled against the silk sheets, his skin still tingling from where the blade had pressed against him.

He had been seconds away from being taken.

Or worse.

And if the triplets hadn't arrived in time—

A choked sound slipped from his lips before he could stop it.

The room went dead silent.

Then—

Ace moved first.

A heavy warmth enveloped Roo as Ace climbed onto the bed, his arms firm as he pulled Roo into his lap, pressing his face into the crook of his neck.

His scent was strong.

Protective.

Possessive.

Roo stiffened slightly at the sudden closeness, his breath hitching, but Ace didn't let go.

"You're safe now," Ace murmured against his skin, voice low and rough with unspoken emotion. "We've got you, little one."

Alec sat beside them, his golden eyes scanning every inch of Roo's body with sharp, calculating precision. "Did he hurt you?" His voice was deceptively calm, but Roo could feel the restrained rage beneath it.

Roo hesitated.

Shook his head.

He hadn't been injured.

But that wasn't the question Alec had asked.

Ace's grip tightened. "You were terrified."

Roo swallowed hard.

He couldn't deny it.

Alexander remained standing, his arms crossed, his expression unreadable. But there was something dangerous in the way his golden eyes gleamed in the dim light.

"Someone sent him," Alexander said coldly. "This wasn't random."

Ace let out a slow, controlled breath. "No. It wasn't."

Alec's hand ghosted over Roo's arm, his touch deliberate and grounding. "We need to know who's after you."

Roo felt his pulse quicken.

He had spent his entire life running from the past.

Now—

It had found him.

Alexander turned to Ace. "Torture the body for information."

Alec sighed, rubbing his temple. "Alexander, the body is dead."

"Then find the others involved," Alexander said flatly, his tone unyielding. "I want every single one of them screaming."

Ace's smirk was sharp. "Already planning on it."

Roo shivered.

Not from fear.

But from the sheer weight of their possessiveness.

The unrelenting, all-consuming way they were ready to tear the world apart for him.

"Whoever did this," Alec murmured, his fingers brushing through Roo's hair, "is about to regret it."

Alexander's golden eyes burned. "We'll make sure of that."
