Great Power, No responsibility

The weekend passed quickly.

Daniel's weekend this time was predominantly experimentation.

And what better way to experiment on Fortuna's Dominion than use it dozens of times?!.

In all seriousness though, after using it so many times, he could be said to have almost fully explored the basic information about his superpower.

The official file had also been updated, encrypted with a complicated key to ensure that no one could peek.

- NAME: Fortuna's Dominion - The ability to alter and control the probability of events. This power enables the manipulation of outcomes across most, if not all domains.

ABILITY CLASSIFICATION: Reality Manipulation – Type VII(Probabilistic Tier)

THREAT LEVEL: Potentially Omega

- RANGE OF EFFECT:

Personal: Influences outcomes affecting the wielder directly.

Localized: Alters probabilities affecting others within the user's line of sight.

Global: Unexplored

- LIMITATIONS:Energy Dependency: Classifying Energy into units, with a total of 134 Units in the Energy Pool.

Probabilities above 90% consume 10 Energy Units, Probabilities between 50% and 90% consume 30 Energy Units, while Probabilities, between 10% and 50% consumes 60 Energy Units. Lower probabilities haven't been explored due to insufficient Energy.

Energy Units can be replenished at the rate of 1 per second, and 1 Energy Unit is added after each use.

Failsafe Threshold: Some Universal Constants including but not limited to the laws of physics may resist permanent change.

- ACTIVATION METHOD: The wielder must focus on a desired outcome, at which point the mental projection of the words [$π•¥] will automatically flicker and the ability will be activated.

: There is a mental time dilation effect of 1000:1 when using the ability.

...

After he had gotten enough information on the ability, the first thing Daniel did was to try and use it to make a LOT, of money.

It was not like there were any casinos just chilling nearby, so he started with what he knew best – Freelancing.

Having no present clients this Sunday evening, he got started.

Normally, Freelancing depends almost entirely in the probability of a client wanting to give you a project.

Various things affect this probability, such as portfolio, experience, ratings etc. But the essence was that it still depended on luck.

Normally, Daniel got one client every four to five days, or every week, though he finished their projects most of the time in a day. He had just finished the work of one client, so according to normal protocol, he should wait a few days before the next client would come by.

But he was about to change that.

[Probability Of Getting a New Client at the Present Moment: 17.0411%]

He made his intentions clear, and the numbers jumped rapidly.

[Probability Of Getting a New Client at the Present Moment: 100%]

*DING*

The instant he did that, he heard a notification alert on his phone, but he didn't rush to check it. Feeling the remaining Energy left in the Energy Pool, he clenched his jaw and projected another Probability Event.

[Probability Of the Client paying For the Highest Package: 30.9103%]

He had three packages on his portfolio. Basic $25, Intermediate $50, and the highest package of Premium was a whopping $100.

Out of the total number of almost a hundred clients he had since he began freelancing a year ago, less than 10 had paid for the highest package.

But it seems this client already had a relatively high probability of paying for the highest package.

But still, to be completely sure…

[Probability Of the Client paying For the Highest Package: 100%]

Only after that did he pick up his phone and accept the client's proposal.

And of course, he/she paid the full $100 right off the bat, for a simple project that would barely take him two hours to complete.

'Like I said, a lot of money.'

A confident smile appeared on Daniel's face as he pulled out his PC and started working.
