Who is this Pirate King guy ?
"I will join your crew, Jack D Sparrow." Gibbs finally accepted the offer of Jack.
"Nah, uh ! Not like that ! Call me Captain Jack D Sparrow or Captain Sparrow in short." Jack told Gibbs with his head held high.
"Alright, I will join your crew, Captain Sparrow." Gibbs said without arguing anymore.
"Good. You must be hungry. But since you attacked me on my back earlier, I am angry with you. So I will not give you any food until you answer three of my questions." Jack told Gibbs as he pulled the nearby chair to him and sat on it.
Gibbs wanted to curse. But here he didn't have any choice. He was really hungry. But instead of arguing with such a fellow he decided that it would be better if he just answers his questions.
"Fine, ask away." Gibbs agreed.
A smile appeared on Jack's face. After he chained up Gibbs, he was ready to leave with him on his Black Pearl. The other ship was still intact and it had two of its additional masts left. So he left the people on that ship with some food to let them navigate themselves. But after taking the collection of alcohol, a couple of newspapers, a box full of 'berries', and a few sea charts and maps, Jack noticed that Gibbs was bleeding from his nose without stopping. The blood was pulling below his head.
Jack was afraid that his sucker punch might kill his new crew mate prematurely. So he had no other choice but to turn towards the other captive who were left on the ship. Jack was searching for someone, who had at least a little medical skills to patch up Gibbs. Fortunately a young girl came forward. She was not spineless like the others. In exchange for treating Gibbs, she wanted him to take her to Gecko Island, wherever it was.
Jack didn't have any reason to refuse. But he didn't agree immediately. He also demanded that she answer a few of her questions. After they struck a deal, Jack left the other people on the ship and sailed away with Black Pearl.
After the girl named Maria patched up Gibbs, Jack asked him for some general information about the world he was in. The girl answered them all. She told them about the four blues and the grand line. How the world government operated most of the world, how marines and pirates reigned over the seas and some other general information. As a village girl from a small village, she didn't know the real significance of one of the figures that Jack read in the newspaper.
So Jack had held on to his question to ask them to Gibbs. As a bounty hunter, Gibbs was bound to know more about the world than Maria who was just a village girl.
"My first question, why did you call yourself donut maker Gibbs ?
Who is this Pirate King guy ?
And what is this treasure, one piece ?"
Jack asked his three questions. And looked at Gibbs, waiting for his answer.
"*Sigh* You saw my devil fruit powers, didn't you. I can manipulate the size of any nonliving thing with my devil fruit power. Usually I use bullets or nails to fire them at the enemy. And just before they hit my enemy, I remotly increase their size several times and blow a hole through their bodies. I don't know why they gave me that name. But people think that my victims end up looking like donuts. So they gave me that name.
The pirate king, Gold Roger, is a powerful figure. In fact, currently you can call him the strongest pirate of the world.
He has reached the final island on the grand line which no one has been able to reach in the last 800 years.
And the legendary Treasure 'one piece', you were talking about, is said to be on that last Island. No one knows about its details either. The world government keeps it a close secret." Gibbs explained the things that Jack has already read from the newspaper earlier.
This time he couldn't feel that Gibbs was hiding anything.
So the mystery of one piece became truly a mystery for Jack.
"Alright, you can go and eat something from the kitchen, next door. But come back quickly. We have a lot of work to do." Jack said dismissively as he got up from the chair.
The sea was calm enough for Black Pearl to sail autonomously for a while. But Jack knew better to let it leave alone for a long time. So after talking with Gibbs, Jack went towards the captain's room to control the ship.
According to the recent newspaper. Desk so the most powerful pirate, the king of the pirates, has been captured by vice admiral Garp. And he will be executed in his hometown, the Logue town on September 1st. Looking at the date of the newspaper, Jack learnt that it was August third. So he had around a month to reach the pole star Island to see the execution of the current king of the pirates. Since he was already in East blue, with the help of his compass he could easily reach there in a couple of days at full speed. So for now Jack has planned to sail around the east blue and see what the world's weakest sea has to offer him.
He still can't figure out how they could call East blue the weakest sea when both the king of the pirates and the Marine who captured him came from the same sea. But he had to see it himself to figure out what kind of interesting world he was in.
Then he will also have to figure out if this one piece is worth the trouble. Taking out his compass, Jack made his wish, despite not knowing exactly what one piece was.
The compass' needle started to spin until it paused in a specific direction.
Jack immediately lost his interest after seeing that.
"One Piece or Two Piece doesn't matter. My goal is to become the god of alcohol." Jack muttered to himself as he took the helm of the Black Pearl in his hands.
