Chapter 10

The price isn't important. What matters most is that the person buying the house needs to be someone you don't want to mess with.

Ideally, it'd be some tough guy with sleeve tattoos.

My brother understood what I meant, and that very afternoon, he found a suitable candidate.

I gave them a day's time, so the tough guy didn't go to the house until the next day.

That afternoon, the tough guy sent me a video.

It was a clip of Kellan's parents wailing and carrying on downstairs.

Kellan's mom cried, "What sins did we commit to deserve this? Our house was sold without a word from our daughter-in-law. How did we end up with such a daughter-in-law?"

Kellan's dad chimed in, "Yes, yes. It's all because we were too kind-hearted. We bought this house outright with our own money. When they got married, we put her name on the deed just because she asked. Now she's divorced our son, and we've lost the house too. Where can I go to cry about this?"
