Chapter 5

I stepped back abruptly, wiping the moisture from the corners of my eyes with a harsh swipe of my fingers.

Seeing me retreat, Jaxon hurriedly tried to reach out and grab me. His body lurched forward uncontrollably, causing him to tumble to the ground in an utterly pathetic display.

"Prudence, listen to me. I didn't betray you. She came onto me, yeah, she was the one who made the first move."

The male model, Kael, standing nearby, furrowed his brow and glanced at Jade in his arms, a hint of doubt crossing his face.

"Jade, is what he's saying true? Did you make the first move on him?"

Jade couldn't help but panic inwardly, her heart racing. Jaxon was already ruined; there was no way she could bet on him anymore. She had found a new sugar daddy now, and if she offended him, who would buy her designer bags and makeup?

This Kael was incredibly generous with his money, definitely a super-rich heir. She couldn't let Jaxon mess up her plans.
