Chapter 17: A New Mission – Journey to the Spirit Sea Sect

---

Mission Assignment

Three days after his battle at the Soaring Blade Battle Arena, Han Ye stood before the Mission Hall of the Holy Land of Beginning.

As the First Disciple of Soaring Blade Peak, he was now eligible to take higher-level missions.

The elders had assigned him his first official sect mission—to travel to the Spirit Sea Sect, one of the subordinate forces of the Holy Land, to assist in handling a growing conflict.

Jian Wushuang, his master, had personally approved this mission.

"Spirit Sea Sect is facing a crisis," the elder in charge of missions explained. "Their sect has recently suffered attacks from rogue cultivators and a rising demonic force. We need someone capable to investigate and assist. Are you willing to take this mission?"

Han Ye nodded. "I'll do it."

The mission would not only test his strength but also allow him to temper his sword intent and gain real battle experience outside the Holy Land.

Farewell and Departure

Before leaving, Han Ye met Luo Xin and Luo Jin in their courtyard.

"Husband, be careful," Luo Xin said, holding his hand tightly. "Spirit Sea Sect is far from here, and demonic cultivators are ruthless."

Luo Jin added, "If things get too dangerous, retreat. No mission is worth your life."

Han Ye smiled, gently stroking their hair. "Don't worry. This is just the beginning of my journey. I'll return soon."

Under the morning sun, he stepped onto his sword light, flying toward his destination.

Arrival at the Spirit Sea Sect

After traveling for two days, Han Ye reached the Spirit Sea Sect, nestled between towering mountains and vast lakes filled with spiritual energy.

Unlike the grand Holy Land of Beginning, the Spirit Sea Sect was smaller but still a powerful second-tier sect.

At the entrance, he was greeted by a group of disciples.

"You must be Han Ye from the Holy Land," a young man in blue robes said. "I am Li Mu, an inner disciple of Spirit Sea Sect. Our Sect Master is expecting you."

Han Ye nodded and followed them inside.

Meeting the Sect Master

In the Great Hall, an elderly man with a flowing beard sat at the head of the room—Sect Master Xu Tian, a Martial Venerate Realm expert.

He examined Han Ye and smiled. "I've heard of your achievements in the Holy Land. It's good to have you here. Our sect is facing an urgent problem."

Han Ye cupped his fists. "Sect Master Xu, please tell me the details."

Xu Tian's expression turned serious.

"There have been increasing attacks from rogue cultivators near our Spirit Sea Lake. They are suspected to be linked to a demonic sect. Several disciples have already gone missing."

He continued, "Your mission is to lead a team to investigate and eliminate the threat."

Han Ye's eyes narrowed. A demonic sect? This would not be a simple task.

"I understand," Han Ye said. "When do we leave?"

Xu Tian nodded. "At dawn."

A Mysterious Presence

That night, Han Ye stood outside his guest courtyard, gazing at the moon.

Suddenly, a faint energy ripple appeared nearby.

Han Ye's instincts flared.

Someone is watching me.

He gripped Silver Moon and vanished in a flash, moving toward the source of the energy.

After chasing the shadow through the sect's forest, he stopped before a masked figure dressed in dark robes.

The aura surrounding them was cold and sinister.

"A disciple from the Holy Land… interesting," the masked figure said with a smirk. "Let's see if you're worth killing."

Before Han Ye could reply, the figure vanished into the shadows, leaving behind only a chilling whisper—

"This land… will soon be ours."

Han Ye's grip on his sword tightened.

Something far more dangerous was happening at the Spirit Sea Sect than what was reported.

And he was determined to find out the truth.
