Relic of the Moon Goddess

We are under observation.

As we entered the prehistoric cave, Luca's voice was low but strained.

The moist, heavy air had a subtle metallic tinge that made my nerves jumble. Along the stone walls, faint marks gleamed with silver light pulsing in tune with the constant beat of the pendant.

With the pendant on my neck, I could also feel it. A continual reminder that here was no ordinary place, the mark on my wrist burned slightly.

Luca replied, "Stay close," his grey eyes glancing around the cavern. His voice was consistent, yet under it I felt discomfort. "whatever is waiting for us here will not let us take the relic without struggle."

Great, I said silently. "Because thus far all has been so simple."
