The Kara base, buried under kilometers of rock. The lights pulsed. The metal walls vibrated. In one of the main hallways, Obito Uchiha walked with firm steps, the black cloak of the organization brushing the floor. He had been silent for days, observing, learning. He trusted no one. And they trusted him even less.
As he passed one of the laboratories, he noticed vapor coming from a sealed compartment. The door opened suddenly, and from the shadows emerged Boro, enveloped in a toxic mist, his body still oozing residual chakra.
—You're the new dog of Jigen —Boro growled, spitting to the side—. The famous Uchiha who wanted to destroy the world. You don't seem like much.
Obito didn't stop.
—You don't seem that hard to take down either —he responded emotionlessly—. But I suppose everyone here is playing god.
Boro frowned, accumulating a large amount of chakra that formed around him. His voice sounded hoarse and aggressive.
—You want to measure strength, old corpse?
Before Obito could respond, Boro released a high-pressure stream of lava from his mouth, which ran like a scorching wave down the hallway.
Obito disappeared in an instant, swallowed by his own space. Kamui protected him, allowing him to emerge from the ground behind Boro with the Mangekyō Sharingan active.
—Bad choice —he murmured, raising a hand. From the floor, roots and branches erupted: Mokuton: Jukai Kōtan.
The wooden branches exploded from the concrete and spiraled around Boro's body. For a moment, they seemed to contain him… until the heat became unbearable.
—Lava Release: Lava Armor —Boro yelled.
A corrosive explosion melted part of the Mokuton and released an infectious gas. Obito retreated in an instant, appearing far away thanks to Kamui. He touched his mask: the virus didn't affect him, thanks to the cells of Hashirama, but he could feel how Boro's chakra was altering the atmosphere itself.
—Interesting… so you modified your body too —Obito said—. But you can't control what you don't understand.
Obito made a single handseal. This time, several wooden stakes emerged from the ceiling and floor, aiming at Boro's joints. The precision was surgical.
Boro fell to his knees, one of his legs pierced.
—Damn you! —he roared—. This isn't over!
—You're right —Obito replied, appearing in front of him, inches away—. This is just beginning.
But just as he was about to strike the final blow, a voice came through the internal intercoms.
—Obito. Enough. You didn't come to destroy us... not yet —it was Jigen's voice.
Obito stopped. Boro growled through his teeth, as the Mokuton began to retract. Without saying a word, Obito disappeared into his dimension, leaving the enemy bleeding and humiliated.
Time passed.
The base had fallen silent. Only faint echoes of tubes breathing and machines processing data remained. Obito walked through one of the secondary hallways until he reached the main laboratory. The door opened automatically upon detecting his chakra.
Amado didn't look up. He was sitting in front of a series of biological samples floating in capsules.
—Did you come to finish what you started with Boro? —he asked with an ironic tone.
—No —Obito said, taking out a small sealed container. He placed it on the table in front of Amado—. I want you to help me with this.
Amado squinted his eyes as he scanned the contents. His face slightly changed as he saw what was inside: the right arm of Danzō Shimura, preserved through fūinjutsu.
—This is… something dangerous, but it's poorly done. If you run out of chakra, it'll go out of control —he murmured, surprised—. Sharingan, Hashirama's cells… and a genetic pattern I don't recognize.
—Madara Uchiha —Obito confirmed—. I want you to analyze it, duplicate it… and perfect it.
Amado raised an eyebrow.
—And why would I help you?
Obito didn't answer immediately. He simply said:
—Because Jigen already approved it.
Amado let out a sigh.
—Hmph… that changes everything. If Jigen allows it, then I have no reason to refuse.
Obito nodded and turned around.
—Do it right —he added before leaving—. And all this might become useful when the time comes.
Hours later, in Amado's laboratory…
The hum of the machines was constant. Amado was finishing connecting the last cables to the surgical table where Obito lay, his torso exposed and his shoulders prepared to receive the new implants.
—This isn't a simple procedure —the scientist murmured—. What you're asking for borders on the unnatural…
In front of him, on a sterile tray, rested two arms replicated from Madara's DNA, but completely modified: they didn't have eyes in the usual places, only in the palms of the hands, where Madara's Rinnegan glowed faintly, still sealed with fūinjutsu.
—Implant them —Obito ordered coldly.
Amado sighed and began the procedure. Medical chakra, cellular integration seals, and containment barriers were used to attach the arms to Obito's body without rejection.
Hours later, finally, the arms moved.
The eyes in the palms opened simultaneously, radiating a devastating aura.
—Incredible… —Amado whispered—. You shouldn't be alive… and yet…
Obito slowly sat up. He moved his fingers, then flexed his arms. The palms with the Rinnegan activated, creating a subtle distortion in the air, as if space itself reacted to them.
He approached Amado.
—Tell me one thing —he said, his voice as cold as steel—. Did you put any limiter?
Amado nervously smiled, but before he could speak, Obito appeared in front of him in an instant, grabbing him by the neck with one hand. The Rinnegan in his palm glowed inches from Amado's face.
—Let me warn you, Amado. If these arms have even a single obedience seal, chakra limiter, or any type of interference… I'll tear your heart out with my own hands.
—There are… no limiters —Amado said, swallowing nervously.
Obito released him.
—It better be true.
Making a single handseal with his left hand, he summoned a sealed scroll and opened it over Amado's chest. Before the scientist could move, Obito placed his hand on Amado's heart, activating a forbidden jutsu.
—Kinkoju no Fuda —he whispered.
A black seal expanded from Amado's heart, covering part of his head and neck.
—Now, if you betray me… This seal restricts your actions. You won't be able to betray me. You won't be able to remove it. And you certainly won't be able to take your life.
Amado, drenched in sweat, nodded slowly.
—I understand… Obito.
Obito turned around. His dark cloak swirled as he walked away from the laboratory.
And so, with Madara's eyes in his hands, Obito was slowly moving closer to the power he desired.
