The Deep One Guardian charged, its massive trident cutting through the air like a bolt of lightning. Drake barely managed to dodge the blow, rolling out of the way just as the trident slammed into the ground, sending a spray of murky water and mud flying. The force of the impact created a small crater, a testament to the creature's raw power.
"Well, that's not exactly a gentle greeting," Drake muttered, scrambling to his feet. "More like a 'welcome to the swamp, now die' kind of thing. Noted."
The Guardian roared again, pulling its trident from the ground with surprising ease. It swung the weapon in a wide arc, forcing Drake to duck and weave to avoid being hit. The creature was incredibly fast for its size, its movements fluid and surprisingly agile.
