Chapter 4 : Death ?

Faith's POV

"So you decided to join the party," Matthew sneered, his eyes gleaming with malice. I spun around, ready to make a quick escape, but my feet tangled with someone else's. I stumbled, and my heart plummeted as I realized I'd just collided with Jared .

Matthew's younger brother, and the werewolf who'd been making my school life a living hell.

''You're a psycho and you need help,'' I spat at Mathew, my eyes darting to Jared, who was staring at me with a feral gleam in his eyes.

''Can I play with her before killing her?'' he asked, his voice low and menacing, as he reached out to touch my hair.

"What?" I said, staring at him in shock. Did he just say...? He wanted to play with me ,and then kill me?

"So pretty... so sad you have to die," he sneered, his laughter making my skin crawl. That's when I saw my chance. With a surge of adrenaline, I kicked him square in the gut, and he doubled over, groaning in pain. "'Bitch!'" he snarled, his face twisted in a snarl, but I just stood my ground, my heart racing with fear and fury.

I sprinted away, desperate to escape. My feet pounded the ground, but Jared was too fast. He seized my hair, yanking me back with a sharp tug that sent me stumbling. I lost my balance, and my heart sank as I felt myself being pulled back towards him.

"You'll regret that," Jared snarled, his breath hot on my face. He raised his fist and I curled up, trying to protect myself. But he just kept hitting me, his punches coming down hard and fast. My skin split and bled, my eyes swelling shut from the blows. He was like a wild animal, attacking me with a fury that was terrifying.

Sindy's eyes were frozen on me, her face twisted in a silent scream as she watched Jared's fists come crashing down on me. She was forced to witness my beating, her eyes pleading for it to stop, but Matthew's grip on her arm held her in place.

Then, in an instant, Matthew yanked her away, and they vanished into the darkness, leaving me alone to face Jared's merciless wrath.

My blood splattered the ground, a crimson stain that seemed to spread with every blow, as Jared's laughter echoed through the night, a cold, mirthless sound that seemed to come from the very depths of hell. I was a rag doll, limp and broken, my body screaming in agony as Jared's fists kept coming, kept coming, kept coming...

''God, is this the end of me?'' I whispered, my voice barely audible through the agony that consumed me. Jared's laughter was like a cold wind that cut through my soul, leaving me feeling shattered and broken.

''Stupid human,'' he sneered, his fist connecting with my face like a sledgehammer. I felt my skin tear, my bones ache, and my eyes burn as blood gushed from my nose and mouth, covering my face like a crimson mask. Every blow was like a wave of pain that

crashed over me, leaving me gasping for air, my lungs burning, my heart heavy with despair.

I felt like I was drowning in a sea of agony, unable to escape the torment that Jared inflicted upon me. My face was a mess of blood and bruises, my body a canvas of pain, my mind a jumble of fear and desperation. I was a fragile, broken thing, shattered by the cruelty of Jared's fists, my spirit crushed by the weight of his brutality.

And still, he kept hitting me, each blow a reminder that I was nothing, just a helpless, hapless human, at the mercy of a monster.

I screamed at the top of my lungs, "Someone, please help me!" My body ached all over, and my heart felt like it was shattering into a million pieces. I couldn't believe this was happening to me.

All because of the plan Sindy and I had hatched to help her escape Matthew's abuse. We had thought it was the only way to free her from his grasp, but now it seemed like it was going to cost me my life.

As I lay there, helpless and battered, I saw Jared's face twisted in a snarl, his fists still coming down on me. I thought of Sindy, and how she must be feeling, watching her friend get beaten to a pulp. Where was she? Was she safe? I tried to call out to her, but my voice was barely a whisper.

Just as I thought Jared was going to deliver the final blow, I heard a noise in the distance. Footsteps, heavy and determined.

My heart skipped a beat as I wondered who it could be. Was it someone coming to save me, or was it just another person coming to join in on the beating? I held my breath, waiting to see what would happen next.
