Chapter 33: Beyond Reasonable Doubt

DeSean Savage sat at his desk, sleeves rolled up, tie loosened, and a determined scowl on his face. The subpoenaed documents had just come in, and what he was reading had his blood boiling.

Ronnie Jacob had been paying Dr. Felix Monroe, a psychiatrist, large sums of money every month. And the doctor had been prescribing him medication— medication that Ronnie never took.

DeSean leaned back, exhaling sharply. “So, you were off your meds this whole time…”

He picked up his phone and dialed his PI.

“Tell me you have something else for me.”

“I do. I traced the payments. Dr. Monroe wasn’t just treating Ronnie—he was covering up his violent episodes. There are reports of Ronnie attacking people, but they were all buried. The doctor was paid to keep them out of public records.”

DeSean smirked. This was exactly what he needed. “Send me everything.”
