I hear Draven's voice coming through.
"What's that awful smell?"
The sound nearly scares the life out of me.
Draven is still alive?
Then who did I kill?
I quickly try to sort out my jumbled thoughts.
Since I've been hiding in the bed, I've never seen Draven's true appearance.
I try to recall the voice of the person I killed.
But I can't remember it at all.
He never spoke a word from start to finish!
I killed the wrong person!
Lavender says at this moment: "I'm not sure, maybe the bed frame got damp."
I hear them being intimate in the next room.
But I can't muster any hatred in my heart now, only panic.
Yet I don't dare to go out now.
After all, it's still risky to face two people alone.
Finally, I wait for Draven to leave.
I immediately use all my strength to kick at the wooden board at the foot of the bed.
But after several attempts, I still can't kick it open!
Just then.
A long blade slices through the mattress.
Draven's face appears before me.
He smiles and says: "Well, you held out for quite a while."
My name is Lavender, and I'm a kindergarten teacher.
I've set my sights on a target.
This man is the parent of one of my students. He's handsome, wealthy, and speaks with elegance - he's absolutely my dream guy!
Too bad I've already gotten my marriage license with Draven, and we're planning our wedding.
Draven isn't bad either, and he treats me well.
His circumstances are better than most men's, after all he's from a family that got compensated for relocation, and got three houses out of it.
But compared to this man, Draven is worlds apart.
This man's name is Alec, and he's the boss of a company.
That day, when he stepped out of his Maybach and looked around imperiously,
I just couldn't take my eyes off him.
How glamorous would it be to be the woman of a man like that?
"Mr. Sterling, you came to pick up kid yourself? Where's the child's mother?"
I asked Alec with a smile.
Actually, in families like his, picking up kids is usually left to the driver or nanny.
It's rare for Alec to come personally, so I had to strike up a conversation and figure out his situation.
Alec looked at me for a moment, then smiled and said, "The kid's mom is busy."
Still busy after work hours.
Looks like my chances are pretty good!
I quickly said, "Can we exchange contact info, Mr. Sterling?""
She glanced at the clock. "I see the child's mother is still busy at this hour. For the sake of the children, we should really connect with parents who have more time available."
Over the next few weeks, I frequently reached out to Alec under the pretense of discussing his child, no longer contacting the mother.
This allowed me to solidify my impression in Alec's mind.
I needed to play the role of a caring, responsible teacher who adored children.
This wasn't actually difficult for me.
After all, it's what I studied. Pretending to like kids comes all too easily to me.
That's right.
I don't actually like children.
Every day at work, when those kids gather and make a racket.
My mood sours to the extreme, wishing I could just burn the whole preschool to the ground.
I used to think things would improve after marrying Draven.
His circumstances weren't bad, so I hoped he could support me or let me switch to an easier job.
But Draven couldn't manage it. His abilities weren't enough to rescue me from this hell.
But now an opportunity has presented itself.
I must seize it!
Alec is my saving grace!
So I said to the child: "Who braided your hair today? It's a bit crooked."
"Mommy did...""
"Aww, maybe Mommy was too busy to do it properly. How about we let your teacher do your braids from now on? Otherwise, the other kids might tease you if they're crooked."
At the same time, the children started to taunt her.
"Crooked braids, shame shame!"
The little girl's lip quivered as she fell into my arms and began to cry: "Mommy doesn't love me anymore..."
I laughed coldly inwardly.
In reality, the child didn't understand anything at all.
