I followed Lavender's instructions.
I retrieved the key from under the doormat at her house and entered.
As expected, there was a strong smell of gas inside.
To be honest, I'd never been here before.
I looked around, taking it all in.
It really was a beautiful house.
I couldn't help but feel excited thinking that this house would be mine someday.
"The kid's room there, the master bedroom here, and we'll set up a study..."

I felt embarrassed by my own thoughts.
I seemed to have lost the confident swagger I once had.
I went to the kitchen to investigate but didn't find any issues.

That name flashed through my mind as I spotted a new bed in the room across from me.
It truly was a beautiful new bed.
