Chapter 3

After that day, I immersed myself in work, no longer paying attention to Lanaya's whereabouts.

It wasn't until two weeks later that I returned home.

Only to find a layer of dust settled on the tables at home.

I cleaned until late into the night, exhausted, and wearily curled up on the couch for the night.

The next day, when I wanted to go out for a ride, I discovered that the garage had been left open all this time.

All the motorcycles I had bought were gone.

My first thought was that there was a thief, and I stumbled back home to check the security footage.

But I found out that this thief was a thief from within.

I truly hadn't expected Lanaya to sell my motorcycles, and I felt both angry and hurt at once.

Did she hate me so much that she couldn't even stand my belongings?

Just as I was about to confront Lanaya, I saw her helping Owen out of a car.

They were walking back home, chatting and laughing.

Upon seeing me, her expression immediately changed.

"Donavan, you useless piece of trash, you have the nerve to come back home?"

"You're the one who cheated, why shouldn't I come home?"

I retorted in a deep voice.

Lanaya was momentarily speechless, rolling her eyes at me as she pushed past.

"Owen isn't feeling well, so I brought him home to take care of him."

"You can sleep in the guest room for the next few days."I stood rooted to the spot, watching Lanaya as she tried in vain to push me.

Finally, Owen couldn't stand it anymore and spoke up in a chilling tone.

"Donavan, no wonder Lanaya doesn't like you. Is this how you always bully her?"

His words made Lanaya even more upset, her lips quivering as she was on the verge of tears.

In the past, whenever Lanaya got like this, I would immediately abandon my principles and comfort her unconditionally.

This time, however, I just watched coldly from the sidelines, even laughing at her.

"You two adulterers, one more shameless than the other."

Lanaya, humiliated by my words, raised her hand and slapped me across the face.

"Donavan, you're nothing but a loser. What right do you have to talk about me?"

She had always thought my job had no future, that it couldn't let her show off like her girlfriends on social media.

She'd been calling me a loser behind my back for a while.

In recent years, she'd become increasingly blatant about it.

Owen chimed in, following her lead, "Don't be upset, Lanaya."

"Everything he can't give you, I can."

"Once I build a successful business with the house you gave me, I'll let you live the high life, counting money until your hands cramp up."Any keen observer could tell this was a load of bull.

Yet Donavan believed every word, snuggling coyly into Owen's embrace and nodding.

When I heard him mention the house Lanaya had given him, I was instantly filled with rage.

After knocking Owen down with one punch, I roughly yanked Lanaya out of his arms.

Through gritted teeth, I demanded, "The house you bought was for him?"

She looked down on me, yet used my money to keep her lover.

I couldn't quite describe the feeling in my heart.

All I knew was that an inexplicable fury was rising within me.

After forcefully throwing Lanaya to the ground, I spat out hatefully, "Since you're so eager to be with him, I'll grant your wish."

"Lanaya, let's get a divorce."
