Chapter 40 Mordrakk

"I used everything I had on that last hit… and it still wasn't enough." Kai clenched his fists tighter, planting his feet firmly. "Doesn't matter. I know it's breaking down, even if I can't see it yet. I just have to keep hitting that spot. No matter what, before I go down, this thing is coming with me."

In an instant, his figure blurred—then reappeared behind the creature in a skidding halt.

BOOM!

A sharp jolt of pain shot through the monster's side, the exact spot Kai had been targeting. It barely staggered, but he didn't hesitate.

Again, he vanished—his speed a streak of motion. From every direction, he struck, landing blow after blow on the same weakened spot.

The creature twisted, trying to track him, but Kai was always faster. Just as it turned—another hit. Then another. And another.

Kai was a blur of relentless motion, his fists hammering into the same precise spot with unwavering precision. Each strike sent a jolt through the creature's massive frame but it remained standing barely flinching.

With each impact his determination burned brighter, the creature twisted trying to track him but Kai was a step ahead.

The creature clenched its fist, still enduring Kai's relentless assault. With a deafening roar, it swung its massive arms high above its head, bringing them down with crushing force. The earth trembled beneath the impact, sending shockwaves through the ground, aiming to destabilize Kai's movements. But Kai was faster.

Reacting instantly, he propelled himself into the air, his legs snapping backward in a fluid motion. In mid-flight, his feet connected with the side of the creature's ribs. For a split second, Kai felt his foot sink deep into its tough, scaly skin—his attack began to take its toll.

The force of the kick rippled through the air, distorting it in a powerful shockwave. The creature staggered backward, its feet digging into the earth as it slid to a halt, its momentum finally coming to a stop, leaving deep gouges in the ground.

Both opponents locked eyes, each brimming with intent—Kai's gaze steely with determination, while the monster's eyes burned with unbridled rage.

Their feet coiled, muscles tensed, ready to explode into action. Just as they made their move, something unexpected occurred.

A blinding orange light erupted from the top floor of the massive school building behind them. The air thickened, turning unnervingly warm, and in an instant, a deafening explosion rocked the street. The fiery glow swallowed the entire structure as it disintegrated, the force of the blast distorting the air and consuming the school compound in a fiery storm.

Kai and the monster narrowly avoided the blast, their bodies thrown back by the shockwave. As the flames began to settle and the dust cleared, the building was completely gone, wiped out of existence as if it had never been there at all. No remnants, no debris—just an empty space where it once stood.

The explosion had erased everything, leaving behind only a void where the structure had been. The fire and smoke had barely begun to settle when it became clear: not even a trace remained. Only the two figures—Victor and the other creature—floated in the air, standing as the only signs of life amidst the total annihilation.

A tall, muscular humanoid floating in the midst of the rubble its appearance mostly human but with subtle monstrous traits. Glowing blue runes etch its skin, and small, curved horns rise from its forehead. Its piercing eyes radiate strength and wisdom. Its hands, though human-like, have slightly elongated fingers with sharp nails.

This is a strong introduction for Mordrakk, and it effectively establishes his dominance and personality. Here's a refined version with smoother flow and slightly stronger impact while keeping the core intact:

A grimace flashed across Victor's face as he hung mid-air, while a smirk crawled up the unborn's face.

Then came the voice—deep, dark, laced with thrill and amusement.

"You don't get it, do you?" The creature's tone was almost mocking. "I am no ordinary beast. I am the perfect unborn. A masterpiece born from the chaos of Bloody Halloween—the agony, the death, the hatred, the war. I am what remains of that nightmare... I am Mordrakk."

PAA!!

Victor's palm pressed against Mordrakk's gut.

BOOM!!

A burst of flames erupted, swallowing Mordrakk whole, scorching high into the sky.

But then—laughter.

"More... more... GIVE ME MORE!" Mordrakk thundered.

His fist drove into Victor's gut, folding his body like paper.

BOOM!!

With a single thrust, Victor was sent flying. In the same breath, he reappeared behind Mordrakk, his palm pressing against his back.

BOOM!!

Another inferno roared, searing through Mordrakk.

But he only chuckled.

"Do you ever get tired of repeating the same trick?" Mordrakk sneered. "You leveled an entire building in one blast… and that? That just warmed me up."

Before Victor could react, Mordrakk's arm slammed into his stomach, sending him crashing into the ground.

BOOM!!

The impact shattered everything in its wake.

"Victor!" Kai's voice rang out. His gaze snapped to the monstrous figure above.

"What the hell is that thing... and why the hell can it talk?"

"I have to help Victor." Panic surged through Kai's mind, his muscles coiling, ready to launch forward—

But before he could move, his opponent materialized before him, towering like a living shadow. A massive arm rose high, its palm wide open.

Then it came down.

BOOM!!

Kai reacted instantly, crossing both arms over his face. The sheer force sent him skidding backward, his feet digging trenches into the ground as he fought to a stop. Slowly, he lowered his arms—his eyes now burning with fury.

"I'll say this once," Kai's voice was low, seething. "Move."

For a brief moment, fear flickered in the creature's eyes—but it vanished just as quickly.

Then something changed.

The air grew heavier. Kai's aura surged, warping the very atmosphere around him. His opponent, once formidable, now seemed… small. Insignificant.

His real enemy stood elsewhere.

"Mordrakk…"

Kai's focus shifted, his instincts screaming at him to take down the greater threat. The creature before him was no longer an obstacle—just something in his way.

"Have it your way, then."

Kai shot forward, vanishing into a blur. The ground beneath him cracked from the sheer force of his launch.

In an instant, he reappeared before his opponent—stance wide, fist clenched, head tilted downward. A perfect form for a perfect strike.

Then he abandoned his usual target.

BOOM!!

His fist slammed into the center of the beast's chest. The air howled as a violent shockwave erupted, a straight blast of force tearing through the space behind the creature.

Kai didn't stop.

With a powerful thrust of his arm, the towering beast was sent hurtling backward, its massive form rocketing through the same hole in the wall it had created earlier—straight toward Mordrakk.

Mordrakk, standing over Victor, barely spared it a glance. Without looking, he raised his left arm, palm open.

THUD!

The creature's flight came to an abrupt halt. The air trembled. Cracks splintered violently across the ground at Mordrakk's feet.

Then—silence.

Mordrakk stretched his arm outward, and the creature's lifeless body collapsed to the ground.

His head snapped leftward, locking eyes with Kai—who still held his punching form, unwavering.
